i was thinking of getting this chip and having some fun with hombrew can you help with these questions

1. whats devhook v0.41

2. whats umdemu

3. and whats runumd

do you need all this stuff for hombrew

well I guess its best to ask you what firmware you have?
anyways...devhook is a program that will emulate a higher firmware while using version 1.5 and allow games (either umd or iso) to be played. Umdemu is the same basic concept, in that it allows iso games to be run off the memory stick and runumd was a program that allowed umd games to be run on 1.5 that required higher firmwares.

in terms of will those programs let you play homebrew? well thats kind of funny because these programs ARE homebrew lol. What allows you to play homebrew is the firmware version you have, not any programs. IF you do some reading around the froums this stuff will become a little bit more clear.

my firmware is 2.7 so i'm gonna get tha undiluted platinium chip my goal is to play MHF EU version with cheat hacker v0.12 i've looked aronud on these boards but everything sounds so confusing

am i right in thinking once i have the chip i can download runumd v1.01.01a or something like that use that to run 2.6 firmware game on 1.5 firmware once i have the chip then get cheathacker v0.12 put in codes then play

you can do everything: isos , emulators, movies, music.
just download the programs and follow the readme files,should be simple enough.
with devhook, you need a firmware dump. use the installer that comes with it,
it will do the job + a firmware file of 2.50 FW.
anyway, search for tutorials here or at psp-hacks,pspupdates etc.
then you should get the hang of it.
there are many cool emus out there snes_tyl,dgen,neogeo cd etc.

before you decide if your going to get ur psp chipped please make sure you have a compatible board. if your psp is the one pictured here then you will not be able to get one

dont even attempt to install the chip yourself ;)... be expected to pay £100+ for the chip and installation.

If your "Goal" is to play MHF EU version with cheat hacker, I would rather save the £100+ and just buy MHF for £20 used...
