my 1st post pls bear with me!

read the theads, but still can't find whats making my ps11(50) fuse to blow... gone through 3 fuses already only 2 left!

my v5/6 has a pro fitted dms3, have been great for years but then one day during play it just froze! after reboot, the drive dont open or turn, still get the power lights and fan working, but seem the drive is not getting any power.

checked all fuses only ps11(50) blown, and keeps blowing!

should i un-solder the dms3 and c?? or has the drive packed-up???

Pls help any advice welcome

cheers

I would unsolder the chip and restore the ps2 to its original state. Then replace the fuse then go from there.

I've experienced that before, SOMETIMES the cause is the BA58 chip dead or the laser coils dead, replace the BA58 and see if the fuse keeps blowing

I have never heard of PS2 blowing up fuses due to BA chip. It should be a short or something that's causing this.

With out a doubt, you have blown your BA5815FM chip (the many legged chip next to PS11). By simply replacing this chip and the PS11 fuse you won't have any more problems.:)
