List of Games that still won't run with DevHook 0.4/0.41/0.41a

The compatibility thread is moving too fast, it's hard to ask for help if the game isn't that well known. Can people post what game they can't get it to work with the DevHook 0.4/0.41/0.41a so that more people can help?

The only game that I have problem with is Mai-HiME Senretsu, tried original and replaced the prx also, still couldn't get it to boot.

Confirmed. I've tried both untouched and also replacing the prx files in the ALL.PSP file. Neither of them worked.

i think the fix is for all versions...(its only a pmf replace)
wwe does only freez if you are playing the iso (umd works without problems) and the reason is a memory lag. ;)

Yea I got smackdown vs raw working via iso by rapidly pressing start at the beginning so it skips all of those intro videos. You gotta press start super fast to get by though. I don't have it on my mem stick right now (since its like 1600mb) but you should try to set devhook to 333mhz to see if it helps. When you are playing, try to skip the videos like the intro video when ur guy is coming out to the ring and stuff because my psp froze there last time. I was using 222mhz but didn't bother trying 333 so see for yourself.

I am having an issure with Capcom Classics. The copy I got is only 504MB. It crashes occasionally exiting a game in 222mhz mode (like usual). in 333mhz mode it works fine (Like Usual). WIFI will not work in EITHER 222 or 333 clock setting even with the devhook 0.41a 333mhz wifi fix (Unusual). It freezes for a minute and then crashes when one PSP joins the others game and it says "merging high scores". I tried applying gherudo's fix, but xdelta returns an error saying that a different file size was expected, somewhere near the 565MB mark. Any Ideas? anyone know what ppf files I can use to try and hand-do gherudo's patch manually?

I reformatted the another MS and tried the Mai HiME Senretsu original ISO and my MS kept flashing and then the psp turn off itself, anyone know how to get that game to work?

I can confirm that Valkyrie Profile doesnt work...dont think that because it starts its fine. It crashes on the first battle (right with angrim the big pitbull goes to fight the first demon).

I also havent had luck with Itadaki Street (I am using Devhook 0.4 though - so maybe this was fixed in the other ones)

I also had the black screen for Pro Evo 5 (eur) version...maybe I have a dodgy rip though.

Anyone who got Valkyrie to work, please advise on what you did if you get the chance.

Good to see someone with these working. Both my isos are untouched, and since thats the case, would you care to share how you got yours to work? For example, what version of devhook 0.4x are you using? Settings, etc.

And can you confirm that you can get passed the first battle. Because there are other people who have reported this same problem for Valkyrie.

Valkyrie worked on all versions of devhook; 0.40, 0.41, b & c.
Settings: the usual : ISO ANYUMD, 2.xx -> 2.00, Fw 2.50, clock 222, reboot XMB. Don't forget to put a game UMD in the drive.
I'm like 2 hours into the game with many battles done already.

Tales of Eternia (Euro) with Devhook 0.41d does not work. Starts to load then comes up with the PSP "The game could not be started (80020148)" error. tried 1.5 mode (tells me to update), 2.0 (just get a black screen) and 2.5 (get above error)

Funny as it works fine for me and I just loaded ir from the UMD and this game also worked with UMD Emulator.

If you mean loaded the game from within Devhook then yes its working fine I played single player for a while worked great I can also test multiplayer if need be, but from me playing the other 1.x games with wifi working I belive that Wifi will work with this.

I have the Jap iso (that also works fine) but I was using the US UMD and ISO they play perfectly, your problem with no text is you need a clean flash1 for some reason if its not it will mess up, what I originaly did with umd emulator was dump a clean reset flash1 off my psp and use flash1 emulation turned on then play it then I did not have the no text issue.

It sounds like you downloaded your iso and its been altered possiably only has the boot.bin in Devhook you require the eboot.bin still encripted to run the games, a good thing to so is always leave the iso untouched and place the rip or fix kit into the iso's folder so this sort of thing will not happen.

yeh, most wanted works fine for me... the 1.5 games seem to be kind of touch and go. some work for some people and not for others. i still haven't been able to get tokobot to work with this devhook 41x, but i saw where someone else said they did. hmmm...

while i understand the impression that asking for more might seem ingrateful to you, the comment on this particular board seems uncalled for. if you're not having a problem with a particular 1.5 game in 41x, is there really any need to post a message berating those that do? with that type of view of things, we'd all still be stuck on fastloader and MPHGL. :cool: don't get me wrong. they're great apps... but its all about forward movement- namely, a true all-in-one-loader.

I think that the reason some of the older games don't work is because they were built using old tools and the ISOs don't conform to the UMD spec quite properly. I've found with some of my older games if I just rebuild them with latest UMDGen they work fine.

The good thing about Devhook 0.4X is that games are more likely to work only when you have dumped them from your Retail UMD. Most (old) games that you can download have been fixed, patched or modified in some way meaning they won't work with Devhook. I bet alot of the games that do not work are downloaded and not purchased first. For example, Metal Gear Acid 2 was stated not to be working but was this an actual UMD dump or was it a download.

That's funny, Lodis, makes me wonder what type of unreliable p2p garbage you're grabbing these "Most of the (old) games you can download" from, the scene always releases an untouched iso (and 2 or 3 rips unfortunately) of every game that comes out. If you can't find it, that's your problem, don't assume everyone else has it though, lol.

Since you consider your problem a good thing, it would seem you've been suckered in by the "anti-piracy" groups' spiels about lost revenue, through which the true leeches of the software world like c-dilla, cactus, and starforce try to prove their legitimacy. All they've actually accomplished is running prices up while lining their pockets off of royalties via a street-gang-style protection racket.
