Dave from portable systems has created a portable Xbox case mod, the whole project took him around 60 labour hours. This 'portable' Xbox will run off the batteries or of course you can use the AC adapter. He says the project cost him around $600 to make, but says it was certainly worth it!

great concept but BAAD implimentation.

Should have used wireless controllers for it and not even bothered with the retarded remap of the controller on board the device. Also, to play it you have to support with your forearms (which would be tiring) or block your view of the screen with your shirt sleeves with it resting on a table.

Oh well, I guess stuff happens. Wonder what kind of batteries that thing uses? I would think they would have to be fairly beefy, considering the xbox itself wants something like 95W to run, and the screen probably wants 10W or so, then add in the speakers and everything else you'd be looking at a 110W draw.

Although a respect any ones' hard work and dedication to something like this it does not seem practical. Couldn't you just get one of those LCD screens that are for the xbox and use that? Granted you would still need an adaptor to use it in the car. I know that this has a battery pack so you don't need ac power but I don't see myself carrying something this big around just for the sake of saying it is portable.

It's not exactly portable, because whether you like it or not, the XBox is a breeze block, but I sure would love one of these. I could probably do something like this myself except for the case and maybe the battery pack, then I'd be screwed... :(

Very cool though, great use of ideas.
