View Full Version : Rumour: Nintendo Wii Priced at $249.99
Another Nintendo Wii pricing rumour has hit the net. A forum posting begins ''I just picked up the EGM issue with Zelda on the cover that I spoke about in the Nintendo conference. There are new Zelda shots, looks GREAT... There's also pics of Monkey Ball, Tony Hawk, Rayman and Red Steel.'' The forum thread also goes onto say that there will be a price tag of $249.99 on the Nintendo Wii.

oh man no more rumors...
remember last year? all the rumors about the controller
if any of that is true, the voice recognition feature would probably be most likely since they got that in the DS already...
didn't know about the always online part... may have something to do with the security (if it's always online it's always checking files making sure they are current or something) or maybe if u want to play copied games u can't have the Wii go online or something?
who knows... not me...

They've been saying 'Under $200' for quite awhile now, which was alot of the charm and potential of Wii.. so if Nintendo goes over that they'll lose some casual buyers IMO

I just got my EGM so I'm going to start rumors too:
$449 USD
Broadband is required
Built in speaker on the controller
Built in mic on the controller
Build in coffee maker on the controller!!!!!
Includes a 2GB SD card
Saying "Wii" twice into the controllers mic turns the system on
Saying "Revolution" into the controllers mic turns it off
I was wondering why it was going to be $449. But with the a coffee maker and included 2GB SD card; it makes since.
if this price was pulled from anywhere else then someones ass... it could be from the fact that it was stated somewhere, buy 5 games (@ $50 each) get a free nintendo 5 system (yes, i hereby dub the nintendo revolution - n5)

The bigger question: Are we willing to pay $600 for a PS3?

Not me, maybe I'll pick up a ps3 in 2008 or something. $249 would be the limit for the Wii though, as I'm looking to pick one up at launch.
