View Full Version : XenoGC vs DuoQ

I am going to buy either the XenoGC or the DuoQ. Has anyone compared these two chips? The are almost the same price.

Installation I see the XenoGC as having the advantage being wireless.

But features I am just not sure of.


Any help would be appreciated.

go for the xenogc, duoq is just a ripoff of the xenogc.

I went with the Duo Q for the added convenience of the seperate LEDs.

The remotely placed LEDs is the only enticing thing about the DuoQ.

Is there an audio Fix on the DuoQ like the XenoGC?'

Any other Differences that I should know about before I buy?

both chips work the same, only the install is different, i fitted a duo last week and its a very simple install, the LED thing is nice, although i have yet to work out what its actually for, anything with LEDs on is cool in my book anyway.

the red led means its patching the drive and the blue led means it has been patched i think. The review on the this site explains them well.

Im getting ready to buy a mod chip. I didnt relize there was a cheaper chip than the DuoQ.

Quality wise, is there any difference between the DuoQ and XenoGC ?

ALSO, since the DuoQ has a seperate LED pcb, how do you see the LED in action once the top case is attached?

LAST, the instructions for the DuoQ doesnt show where you attach the LED pcb, where does it go?

the instructions cleary show you that the led goes on the right side of the gamecube so it is viewable through the vents. Look at the bottom right picture on the installation diagram.

Yes, it shows you where it goes (i didnt know the vent was right there), but it doesnt show you where to solder the wires for the LED? The mod chip is labeled A,B,C,D, Ground, Power, but where does the 1,2,3 go on the LED PCB ?

1,2,3 goes to 1,2,3 on the PCB.

As you can see on the diagram the picture of the led pcb is on the right of the duo q with the 1 2 and 3 clearly higlighted on both the chip and the pcb.
