hey there teos,

the problem here may be is the fact that your putting the files into the wrong folder. For video, in the root of the psp, make a folder called MP_ROOT. Make a new folder inside this folder called 100MNV01. Then put your file in there. so this is what the psp should look like:

X(where X is the drive letter)://MP_ROOT/100MNV01/file is here

and that should do it. If this doesnt work, reply back

hey again teos,

About ISO's on 2.1, sorry there is no way for them to work via the memstick at the moment bro. But wait, theres a chance a working exploit for this firmware or even higher ones will be released, bcoz theres been word of it on these forums. With that, somebody may make a downgrader so u can dg back to v1.5, where you can freely play ISO's off the stick. Not sure, but it may be a sign!

anyway, i hope this helped, and good luck, i hope the new exploit is what you and many others have been looking for!

You say youll be patient and wait for a downgrader. Youll have to be really patient then as i dont think there will be a downgrader for 2.01+ for a very long time. Like i say to a few people, it may be best for you to buy a 1.5 now, and sell your current PSP, before 1.5 prices rocket on ebay etc.
Just something you may want to consider

Hi...you sound very frustrated...sorry about that...I am certainly no expert at all on this but from what I have read version 2.6 and any future versions will not play movies from the stick, just as only certain versions like 1.5 will allow for homebrew applications and games to run from the stick...i use ver. 2.01 and it works fine...

hey,

hey teos, sorry bout the late reply, no problem about the help, just lookin out for one another! :)

Ok, for the guy having problems (goibi boy), what is the layout of your psp stick? you are getting it wrong.

you know the folder called 100MNV01? well youve named it wrong. For 2.60 firmware, a new codec is being used to play the video you want, as most video converters do nowadays. So, try to rename the 100MNV01 folder to 100ANV01, and THEN check it out, it should work. here is the structure, just so you dont get mixed up:

X(where X is the drive letter)://MP_ROOT/100ANV01/MAQxxxxx.mp4

remember, the file name must be something like : MAQ00012.mp4, not a random name! or if using old videos, M4V00012.mp4 etc. also,if your file is an M4Vxxxxx.mp4 type, put it in the 100MNV01 folder. If it is MAQxxxxx.mp4, use the 100ANV01 folder.

this should work for you. 2.60 must play movies off the stick, otherwise, 2.60 is a wasted firmware!

anyway, reply back if any probs

EDIT: for teos, you may need to wait a while for a downgrader, but if you own GTA (grand theft auto:liberty city stories), you can play random homebrew on your 2.01. try googling it and try it out. This will not play ISOs im afraid:( , but something may happen one day! later on.

For play video you do this way:

Put video in

mso:\MP_ROOT\100MNV01 and rename in M4V00001.MP4 ,M4V00002.MP4 M4V00010.MP4...M4V001001.MP4 ecc ecc

(where Mso, is memory stick root,MP_ROOT is a folder, if it not exist, crete new folder and call MP_ROOT)

For Mp4 Avc high resolution put it in

mso:\Mp_ROOT\101ANV01 and rename it in MAQ00001.MP4 MAQ00002.MP4 ... MAQ30833.MP4 ecc ecc

File .thm if there are, you mast rename it as name of the movie.

ATTENTION not all .mp4 file are compatible, you must convert with specific mp4 software for psp. (Mp4 high resolution you can see it only with 3.03 Oe Version C Dark Alex Custom Firmware or superior)

What did you use to convert your video to MP4? If you used PSP Video, it should automatically name it for you. Then the MP4 file will go into 100MNV01.

If you used 3GPConverter (ie AVC format), it will go into 101ANV01.

One weird problem I noticed last time with the 100MNV01 folder was that some numbers didn't work. Lol so try renaming it some other number, like M4V38124.MP4 or something. Hope it works :).

hi,
i didnt use anything to convert it, i downloaded it from video google as an ipod/psp file so it was already the right format, i pressume mpeg-4 is ok to use, if so i really cant see why it is still not working as i have tried everything else suggested :(

this could be the case of a Hi-Def MP4 video that will only work on 3.03 or above. My suggestion is to look for a downgrader and get onto using some Custom Firmware. If this is what you want to try go here.

This thread should give you all the info you need.
