I was pumped to get it today, since CompUsa has it releasing today and at $43.99 but sadly they didn't receive their shipment in today. I will be looking forward to other peoples posts.

I'm not into these games. Looks like mikerowsoft has been playing it all damn day tho, maybe he can enlighten us to how good it is :). Personally, I can't wait for gears of war, prey, rainbow six, games like that. Hopefully some fun surprising games will come out in the meantime.

Should arrive in the mail next week. Read this in a review
"Instead of creating this massive intro paragraph about Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, I'm just going to cut the BS and be real with you.
Buy this game immediately, and if you don't have an Xbox 360, buy an Xbox 360 just to play this game."

Lol, good sales pitch buut I don't think I want to spend $650 on this game through a 360 when a PC version for $50 will suffice.

does this game need a HDD so you can play it???
AceMilo

No games will require the hdd to play. If you do have the hdd tho, it uses it for cache data so the game runs quicker and loading times are shortened.

thats very good to hear, thanks. But i read that you will need a HDD to play Final Fantasy XI and you need one to play Football Manager 2006 too.
long loading times i can cope with ... i once owned Midnight Club 3 on PSP ;)

Well it's good to know that Wal-Mart price matches after all.
At first they were hesitent, but I finally got it at the lower price-match of CompUsa.
I'm about an hour into it and so far after spending about an additional 45 minutes customizing my character I'm into the story. Quite good I must say so far. Funny since I never really got into the previous xbox elder scroll. I just hope I can find the time to really invest into this one, cause it sure seems like it will be good.

Crono take a look to Oblivion, it was developed for 4 years, it's not a jap RPG, jap rpg tend to be linear, this game it's free world, you can do wathever you want or you're up to, it's pure FREEDOM, in a changing and living world.

agreed guys, this game is simply stunning..!
my question: is anyone else at the first oblivion gates and it seems to play for 3 minutes, then pauses and loads for 5 mins all the time..?
i get 2 or 3 mins gameplay then a 3-5 min load wait.
anyone else copping this ?
otherwise an awesome game..!

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. Right now I just found the horse nearby the castle area in the west part on my way to the monk area.

load times are like 20 seconds or less for me. I dont think its ever touched a minute. Could be something to do with your cache, try this. Turn off the 360 with oblivion in the drive, start it up and then hold A, keep A pressed until the first logo comes up. It will take about 20 seconds for the logo to come up, this is clearing your current cache and writing a new one. May solve your problem. Im going around all the mages guilds trying to make them recommend me lol. Taking ages.
edit: oh you do have a hard disk right?

I was just thinking the same thing about the hdd.
I just started turning on people after talking to them then kill em.
But now there are like six guards chasing after me.

Just curious if any of you in your quest keep the books or just read them?
I just dumped the ones I collected at the monistary after getting a new quest to locate Martin.

i've been keeping them, purely in the hopes to sell them to a bookstore like in morrowind. need cash at the moment,hehe...:)

I bought this game and I really don't like it. :(..For one "loading area" ...skips .etc

twista: there's another trick to speed up loading times apart than flush the cache, disconnect from the live, it looks like each time that the console it's loading a new area will recheck your Live connection and this is slowing the game, i didn't had this issue. Nothing to do with the console.
Sens8: maybe you should play a little more and get used to it, it's not a very complex game but the learning curve it's more hight that any jap rpg.

Here's my info:
Race: Nord
Birthsign: The Thief
Class: Pilgrim
Level 2
I can relate to you about the spells and portions related to your character picked. I just made it to an area that looks like the eye of sauron from lotr. So far the game has really impressed me compared Morrowind on xbox. Now the problem is just finding the free-time to invest in the game.
