Hello,
Ive downloaded the Evox d6 EF, i want to flash my TSOP with it.
Then i loaded it into XBtooland checked the settings.
Do i have to do something with the rc4key??
or is it alright as it is???
The flash type is supported by raincoat (eurasia 1.1 cd based on raincoat)
The rom line (MD5) is ok :
ROM = "EvoX D.6 EF",0x74c6235497f474bf88b54b3fc52a20b2
My XBOX is a V1.3

Hi,
I don't think you need to open it with XBTool unless you're changing anything, and no you don't need to change the rc4 key.
So, you should be able to just flash that to your TSOP, make sure the file is the same size though, whats the model of the TSOP chip? Also do you happen to know the size?
Also, you need to short the 2 jumpers on the motherboard, one on the bottom, and on one the top.
There was also something about soldering some wires to get the TSOP chip to flash for some reason, although i don't know much about this.

For flashing the TSOP on a 1.3 you need to make sure that the BIOS file is 256k and that you have soldered the 2 points on the TOP of the motherboard. The 3rd point on a 1.3 motherborad is exactly the same as one of the top points so is NOT nesessary. Just connect the jumpers in the 2 points shown circled in red in the attatched pic.
Also make sure you use a low wattage iron (15W is best) if you arn't a pro, unless you want to buy a new xbox.
Perhaps the best way to flash a tsop is to modify the 007\MA exploit with the new evox 3921 dash and have your 1mb bios (v1.0\1.1xbox) or your 256k bios (v1.2\1.3xbox) in the bios folder. Simply run the exploit and use evox to flash your bios directly. If you use a 256k bios on evox build 3921 on a v1.0\1.1 (uses 1mb bios) xbox it will automatically resize, this is a very fool proof and reliable method.

Just read somewhere that you can split the TSOP in older xbox's. First off, what versions does this support. I have a couple of friends interested in this. And I have a 1.1 xbox, how do you do this? Just solder a switch between the two points on the TSOP? Any info will be greatley appreciated.
Thanks,

yea ... 1.0/1.1 boxes have a 1mb tsop. so you can split them so you have max 4x256k banks. but it really demands alot of the mcpx. it gets to hot to be healty imo!

Thanks! I found out that I have a 1.5, so no split TSOP. I did add a mcpx heatsink and flashed the TSOP.
Thanks for the reply.

Although i did not split it 4 ways. I only connect points a19, ground, and 3.3v on my xbox 1.0, to make the 1mb bios split into 2 512 banks. I flashed each bank separate with a 512k bios each after installing the switch.
with the switch one way i flashed with exec2
and the other way with MS bios.
i also edited the exec2 bios so it will load unleash x from F. So basically when i switch the switch one way it loads the xbox ms dash default, and the other way to unleash fully modded.
here is some pics of my xbox, although i do not have a picture of the switch is one the back.. Lol

now how to wire it (not that good with paint.. but here is an idea)
http://www.nicklowicz.com/x6.bmp
Your voltage in may vary depending on how many leds you use, or how many volts your light is (ex: 5v or 12) which can be pulled from hard drive power yellow (12v) or red (5v). negative of led/light is grounded to chasis.
google about connecting leds. some require a resistor.

not sure if this is in the right part of forum.. if not can the admin please move it for me :) maybe even make it a sticky.....
When i first attempted to do this tsop split, I somehow crashed the whole tsop. I said to myself damn I killed this xbox.. done deal. the 3 wire trick did not work.. it was gone.. Or so i thought... I found this tutorial
http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/homemademod.php
which was some help, but it did not give me enough detail, so I will post how to fix a totally dead tsop..
materials needed...
1.) a PDIP 32-pin FlashROM (for example 29F020(2Mbit) , 29F040(4Mit) or 29F080(8Mit)).I used a bios a Windbond w29c020c-90b
2.) Uniflash (google it)
3.) a 256k Xbox bios image (xbins has exectioner bios)
4.) an older sockey 7 motherboard, or what i used a linksys network adapter.
If you are using a motherboard follow these instructions:
make a bootable floppy, place uniflash.exe, as well as your 256k xbox bios file on the disk. remove the PC BIOS from the socket once (when the pc is off) and put it back in , this will make sure the BIOS chip will be "easy" to remove later.
Restart your PC (with the PC BIOS in the socket) , enter the BIOS settings and make sure your PC will cach the BIOS image to its RAM after booting (it should be an option somewhere in your BIOS settings , often called something similar to "cacheable BIOS") , else your PC will not like you to remove the BIOS while the PC is running.
Flash the BIOS chip.
Boot your pc in DOS and go to the location where uniflash is placed. Now remove the PC BIOS (yeah , while the pc is running) and insert the new chip you bought. Now type "uniflash -e C:\location\of\xboxbios.bin"
If you are using a network card (best way) follow these instructions:
I had problems using a motherboard so I used a NIC.
Make a bootable disk, add uniflash, and the 256k xbox bios image.
place the bios in the network adapter, taking caution that the dip in the top (the small groove) lines up with the one on the card.
boot the computer with the disk. And at the prompt type
uniflash -pcirom
then select the number that corrosponds to the correct bios (256)
then go to flash with bootlock, and type in the bios name you added to the floppy.
here is the card i used, as long as the rom slot is this size it should work

Ok so now you got a bios flashed with the xbox bios, now what?
You need to follow the diagram here to wire the bios.
http://www.xbox-scene.com/modchips/ownmod_diagrams.html
If you used a bios, the the Eprom is the way you would wire your bios. You can use a socket on your bios as well if you like. here is a diagram of how i decided to make mine... Seems too impossible, but after loading some tracy chapman, and expecting a couple hours of my time it wasnt that bad.
also whats not mentioned is after you connect the 29 wires and it boots you MUST disconnect wires 16,32, and the link32 wires right after you get on the flash bios screen.
here is a pic of my 29 wire mod
http://www.nicklowicz.com/x3.jpg
here is the top, minus the switches on 16, 32, and the link32.. i havent added them yet.. I just snipped them when it booted. I chose a radioshack pbc board to make connecting and diconnecting easy and so i dont wear out the bios pins. Although you could use a rom socket or whatever you like.

Guys, I have a homebrew 29 wire mod chip in my Xbox v1.0 with Evox.
I want to flash my TSOP but dont know how.
A couple of things I dont know:
a) How to flash my TSOP once the wires/connection have been made as my homebew is needed to boot the xbox in the first place ?
B) How to disable my homebrew (with out ripping it out totally).

Just cut all link wires on homebrew chip (e.g 16 and 22, 32 and 31), before you flash.
