I just recived and installed an X2 Lite in my xbox today. I turned it on and got the Cromwell Bios Update screen. I updated the bios to evoX using an online guide. The thing updated then shut itself down. After starting it up again with the modchip on it restarts, restarts, then blinks green red (that old chesnut!). Is there any hope of saving my investment now?

I used a program called X2 bios manager to compile a bios from a evox v2.6- v1.0.bin file. In the prog I filled all 4 banks with the same file, and saved the whole thing as "BIOS.BIN". Then i took a bunch of mp3s and zipped them, I renamed the zip to "ABC.DAT" to create a dummy file. Then using nero I put the two files into an ISO and then burned a cd from it named "BIOS". When i put the disc in the xbox it recognized it and began the flashing procedure. It did everything it was supposed to do, but now I cant start the console up with the X2 on.

Oh my bad! My box is a 1.1, I used the wrong file. Now that i messed it up, can i buy the X2 Lite programer and salvage my chip? Or can I save my money and do something else? Thanks for the help.

There are a couple of things you can do.
You can either buy a X2 Lite Programmer, and save yourself some hassle.
Or if you have another modded XBOX, or know someone with one, you could use the 007 or Mechassault exploits to either install the font/audio exploit for the dashboard, and then run a prog to flash the TSOP etc.
Or do the 007/Mechassault exploit and run something like Evo-X or XFlash to flash the TSOP.
Remember that before being able to do those you must short the 2 jumpers on the motherboard, one on the top and one on the bottom.
This does mean you won't be able to use your X2 Lite as it is though, as you can't flash the LPC bus while booted from TSOP and vice-versa.
Hope it helps

Thanks for the help. I guess i'll buy the X2 Programmer. Will i be able to link up to my xbox and update my bios with the "X2 Bios Manager" app? If so, i have 2 new files:
"evoX V3.6 - V1.1.bin" & "evoX V3.6_Eject Fix - V1.1.bin". Do I have to use the first file, then update, or can I just skip to the eject fix one?

Hi,
Yes you can just use the second one straight away.
Also, the programmer doesn't conenct to your XBOX, it connects directly to your modchip, so you could just connect it, load X2 bios Manager and program you bios.

Where on the chip does the programer connect? I don't have the IDE style output for a programer like the pro version has.
