After 6 months since the release of the second version of this installer, Auto-Installer Deluxe v3.0 is now here. While it still offers all the flexibility and vast amount of applications as the older version, it now offers more options, more applications, and yet even more flexibility.

After 6 months since the release of the second version of this installer, Auto-Installer Deluxe v3.0 is now here. While it still offers all the flexibility and vast amount of applications as the older version, it now offers more options, more applications, and yet even more flexibility.

I have decided not to go multilingual on this package, this is partially due to laziness of going through it all again (trust me it was a nightmare lol), but also because I have focused more on making the Auto-Installer Deluxe 3 package the easiest to update instead. All the minor files like Skins and XBMC Scripts are in seperate files from the ISO, which means they can be easily replaced by newer versions, and a newer ISO created and burned.

This is how it works, you basically start with your core ISO file (which contains all the main files of the installer), then using the AID 3.0 ISO Update program included, you can build you own custom ISO, selecting exactly what you need. The addon packages include Skinpacks (for the Dashboards + XBMC), BIOS Addon Pack (for flashing), XBMC Script Addon Pack (bundleds with tons of XBMC Scripts), plus soundtracks for the installer. Of course, with a little knowlegde you can make your own addon packs and personalise your AID 3 disc to your own liking.

Hopefully you enjoy all the hard work and testing that has been put into this project, as we all believe that this installer disc is the one that will definately go down in Xbox History.

I know, this is a definite Newb question. But, the Text file in the AID3.0 Folder says that the ISO is 485 MB, but there's no Image File in the Folder from the Torrent's Download, just files. Do I have to create an ISO using something like Qwix by just adding all the files? And even if I do that or just burn the folder as data, wouldn't that still excede 485 MBs?

I'm just wondering how to fit this on a CD-RW.

Extract the RAR archive(s) to find the ISO file, and yes it will fit on a CD-RW

AID 3 kicks the ass off Slayers 2.6, for these reasons:

* Slayers 2.6 was released back in September 2004, and is completely out-of-date
* Slayers 2.6 only lets you install EvoX or Avalaunch as a dashboard
* Slayers 2.6's version of XBMC is way too old

* AID 3.0 was released in February 2006, so it's fully up-to-date
* AID 3.0 gives you the choice of 5 different dashboards opposed to 2.
* AID 3.0 has more software that can be installed
* AID 3.0 has more features
* AID 3.0 looks nicer :P

Softmod or Modchip shouldn't matter with linux.

You should be able to use your Controller to still move around the mouse pointer, but yes I do recommend that you get a keyboard and mouse to use linux with.

Just buy a cheap USB Hub, grab a USB -> Xbox cable, hook your KB+Mouse up to the hub, plug in the cable, and you're all set :)

Well, obviously don't format your E and/or F Drives, just delete your old apps/dashboard and re-install them.

Not all Xbox DVD Drives like CD-RW's unfortunately, or it could be simply a case of the CD-RW you're using.

Also, check out the Online AID 3 Manual (http://www.aideluxe.com/modules.php?name=Manuals&file=aid30-01) just to make sure you're doing everything correctly.
Chapters 3 + 4 explain about preparing your ISO to burn, and how to burn it.

Well, noob or not you are correct.

I've read posts saying to use "virgin" or brand new CD-RWs for this. I haven't used a CD-RW for ages in my Xbox so I will agree with you on this.

I have recently upgraded several xboxes using the same virgin CD-RW.
The Thompson drive seems to have real issues reading CD-RW's, I have a spare phillips and normally have to fit this to upgrade mates xboxes who have the Thompson drive.
I would try using a media you know works in your drive and then burn to that.
I have the spare Phillips as it was my old one and bought a Samsung drive for the DVD-R compatability which I bought from ebay for about £30. Well worth a look for people whose drives are on the way out or own a crap Thomson drive.

Okay. I have evox 3935 installed already. It is a softmod. If I load this Installer 3.0 is this an upgrade for this or not. I suppose it is, but I don't want to LOSE any info. Will I lose my roms? Or can I truly trust this?

omfg i cocked my install right up i wiped my hdd completely instead of just the partition!

luckely i still have my slayers install disk:D so just install my origanal xbox dash then this SWEET ASS UPGRADE!! :D
lost all my game save but eh funk it, atleast it gives me something to do :D ;)

Not to be too blunt, but why do you need slayers? AID 3.0 does everything it does and more, and can easily rebuild a hard drive just the same.

The only reason why I tell people not to worry about Slayers is because there's no need for it anymore. Since AID 1.0 came out back in December '04 it has basically replaced everything up to that date with the features and apps it has to install.

Now that AID 3 is out (Released Feb '06) it's the most up-to-date master / install disk there is for Xbox, and with the update packs I'll be releasing it will remain the most up-to-date.

Unfortuately there probably wont be any more apps included than what is currently available, they'll just be updated to newer versions as they come along (IE: Dvd2Xbox - XBMC etc). I've designed AID 3 with the intention that you shouldn't need anything else.

Yes, you either need a modchip installed in your Xbox, or you need your Xbox to be Softmodded.

i kind of have a noob question, i've downloaded and burned AID onto a disk and everything but what's getting me is that, everytime the giant X comes up underneath it, it shows AID and what not but then it goes black. am i doing something wrong in the burning stage?

I lost my Msdash files once and after i went to replace them on the C drive of my xbox, somehow in the process it loaded everything twice. now when going to MS dashboard or even when using the AID right when it would load the disk or dashboard it just restarts. any ideas?

Finished the AID 3 download and upgraded the ISO file with the included add-ons for Skins etc. but that "ISO updater" will only duplicate the same iso file, won't make it any newer. i chose the upgrades with the correct order, even tried with the 3.04 upgrade but the only thing i get when i install it to my XBOX is an EvoX with no extra skins... i broke my neck the whole day and no results... I think i'll go back to Slayer's 2.6 :mad: :mad: :mad:

i have burnt the iso to 2 different CD-R's. 1 with sum updates and 1 without.
i have also burnt the iso to 2 different DVD+R's (coz the AID manual says my phillips drive prefer's these), 1 with 1Gb dummy file and 1 without. all these discs wont boot in the xbox. only the DVD with dummy file is listed as unknown on the dash. the rest of the discs come up as "no disc". i can browse the DVD-R in commander, but it just wont boot on startup. i even ran the default.xbe from 1 of the folders on the DVD and it exited commander and went back to my evox dash.
how do i get these discs to boot. i really wanna try AID. coz it sounds really cool. :confused:

I just uploaded it and installed it in apps. Wonderful. I cleared out my Drive C: and redid that partition. Question though..How can I get another dashboard to load in APPS. I had the unleash X dash and had to use another XBE for it just to show up in a list. But now it has a Double AID3 heading.
