Thoughts on FFXII

hey guys i was wondering what the communitys thoughts where on final fantasy 12 were cause ive seen the trailer and gameplay looks pretty good.:)

Well, judging from the demo that came with Dragon Quest VIII, it's pretty good. What is the release date for North America anyways? I'm getting pretty damned tired of waiting six months to a year later to get English versions of these games. Then again, they are always improved somewhat over their Japanese counterparts, and if I was Japanese I'd sure be pissed if a year later they attempted to sell me an "International Version" of the same game I already spent sixty dollars on, but hey that's just me...

Dont take me wrong I did play the demo and thought that it looked preety good. One of the things that I did not like from the demo was the use of missions like FFX-2 but I read on a review that its not supposed to be that way. I will probably end up buying it and playing it, but even though it looks great and everything, It did not feel like a FF game anymore. I miss the random encounters, I thought that made it more interesting. But well see maybe ill be proven wrong.

There are some translations on the net that allow you to play the game now and get most of the story. Although it is kind of a pain to constantly look back and forth. Now if there only was a way to patch the game so the text could be displayed in english (using the portion of the game that's already translated) that would be totally awesome.

my sentiments exactly, I think we're getting it in North America in October or November, which really isn't THAT far off, but it would be great if a patch could be made to include that translated material.

Anyone played the japanese full release yet with the translation at hand? Thoughts?

Now that the US version is out, does anyone know a way to switch the audio files from the japanese version? That way I could have Japanese voices, but with English text. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
