I'm currently using Cobra 1.2 with my Extreme... Some features don't work with it, but it does direct boot of DVD-R which is all I'm interested in right now. Once the new BIOS comes out I may venture into other things with my GC.

maybe team viper could already release a beta version of the extreme bios? sounds logic to me ;-)

I use gcom 2.3, I find that to be the best until new cobra 2.0?? comes out, just my findings m8, I didn't get much luck with cobra 1.2 although it works fine with my older ViperGC :)

Can somebody point me in the direction of gcom and give me an idea how to flash it using the usb please, I presume you can do it this way with the viper flash utility?

Use the link in the above post, and yes use the USB utility or if you havn't flashed it yet at all, burn the file to a disc and load it that way. GL.

Hi thanks for the replies, i've got the plugin on the cobra working now, my dre's seem to be few and far between with gcom, even discs that were unreadable will boot. Thanks for the help guys.

Ps. Sorry to the original poster for hi-jacking the thread.

not sure how to get gcom onto my viper. (help n e 1?)

tried cobra 1.2 = wouldn't even recognise my back up disks.

so now im using gcos 1.5 = reads the disks but get dre just as the games get going.

so thought i'd try the gcom 2.3 but not sure if i have the right file or how to get it onto the chip. different to the others.

so im looking at a POT tweek.

as for media i've gone for RiDisc mini's dvd-r n e one heard of these?

Try this, its the cobra1.2 bios with the gcom2.3 plugin, just upgrade as you would normally from the flasher or dvd

thanks davy. - will try it!

did the pot tweek, read all the info and it seems a reduction by about 45% seems to work.

gone from 503 down to 328. read with no dre's so long as the disks are burnt at x2 speed.
