According to reports, Modern Warfare 2 has already been ripped and is ready for upload. Bad news for IW if this is the case already.

Looking at the picture, guy doesn't know what he is doing and getting help through IM but why leave IM screen visible? It can be traced back easily.

He better stick to creating themes for the PSP.

Do you think ixtreme is gonna save you from getting banned?
Do you think iXtreme will boot games with a blank ss, pfi and dmi?
Or does iXtreme 1.6 boot them using activate.iso?

No, activation.iso will not launch a game without SS.bin.

After half an hour of getting flamed by #fw for stating this, c4eva backed me up and confirmed it.

So nobody can play this disk.

IW wanted to hype the game by not releasing all details of the game before it came out.

If it has a blank EVEVERYTHING ITS NOT A REAL DUMP.
I dont care what firmware you have, but that will not be recognozed as a game disc. I dont even know how it reads the regon code with no other info.

EIther this guy ripped a horrible rip or someon is really trying to get people on the BANNED wagon.

And here I was going to whine about how all the good leaks happen on the 360... Seems like every time there is a great new game it gets leaked waaayyy ahead of time on the 360 lol

if you want games, trade in your old titles to get enough money together like i have (£69.99 ready for COD MW2) and you can buy......yes......BUY, these games, and stop pirating them.
How would you like it, if some one broke into your house and stole your gear, you would be pretty pissed off i should imagine, well that's exactly what people like you are doing to the software developers, stealing from them.
Do yourself a good deed and go out and buy COD MW2 & Assassin's Creed 2, because both of these games are AAA titles and they deserve our money for making them.

Does anyone else just not really care? I was looking at the MW forums and everyone is shitting themself. I just don't see what the big deal is, but then again I am not a fan of these games.

I remember normally people freak out cause someone gets in before then can unlock the items before them and oh god maybe kill them, so now they must spend 24/7 on it to catch up. Damn you pirates making it so I can't have a life to remain cool....losers.

They get leaked early on the 360 because the 360 was hacked. You can bet if the PS3 was hacked and BD-R discs were affordable they would be leaked for the PS3 early too.

I always hated first person shooters until the COD series came out. You may not be a fan of the COD series but a lot of people are. It blows all the other first person shooters away. Modern Warfare was the best out of all of them so it's only natural that everybody is looking forward to this sequel.

Thats a silly analogy. You cant compare downloading some software to breaking into a house. With software you havent stolen anything physical, the game is still owned and sold to others by the company. Stealing an item from someones house is very very different. Theres only one Mona Lisa, if i stole that then it would be stolen and no one but me could enjoy it... a game can be stolen but still enjoyed by thousands of other people. I dont condone downloading games, but it happens, and will continue to happen, like it or not... and i agree that the best games deserve your cash.

it's the small games that aren't AAA that really shouldn't be pirated, cuz they need the sales.

I dont know if you are talking to me as i never said anything like that... but i do agree with you a little on the Big Names vs the Little Guy. The only point i was making is a crap game is a crap game, doesnt matter who made it.

Well look at it from a developers point of view, ok, you n0rthstar are now a developer from infinity ward and 1000+ people pirate your game code of which you have been slaving over for 2 years plus, for your game to be stolen in just a few days, you would be well & truely pissed off, you have got to admit, and so that's why i said about someone breaking into your house, while you were at work, like what happened to me, in real life, that's why i used that as a example, as i know first hand how that feels to have something stolen from you that you care about, that is what i was getting at.
Hopefully people will now understand where i am coming from. :cool:

This is how people make themselves feel better about stealing. Theft is theft, whether you still something physical, or a software license. How is your analogy not silly? Only one Mona Lisa? Is that all you find in people's houses? Priceless, one of a kind items? What if you stole $60 from someone? There's plenty of money around, but I bet that person would be upset if it was their money that was taken. Every time you pirate a game, you commit theft. I'm not going to preach like a hypocrite, but I won't sugar coat it either. If games are stolen (and still enjoyed by other people), the development houses will eventually shut down. Yes, pirating happens and will continue to happen (just like any other type of theft). That doesn't make it any less serious a crime. People just like to justify it as a lesser crime, b/c there's no physical act of removing anything. It's all in the psychology.

edit: I suppose I should mention that, legally, piracy is infringement.

since i find your logic flawed il play devils advocate.

as a developer getting paid either way they would probably say
"sweet, a game i put so much effort in is so popular" or "great to see that my hard work is getting out there for people to enjoy" and such like that

oppoents of piracy will tell you "if you pirate the company will go under" and although that may be partially true for indie developers thats not the case with the larger companies which happen to be pirated the most and yet with all this piracy the video gaming industry is huge i has even become larger than the film industry and continues to grow not to mention the industry show profit year on year.
so thats wrong as well

then there is the argument that a pirated copy equals a lost sale.
not only do the stat not prove that but there have been studies for example, music pirates spend more on music than the average consumer(sure it may not be the cd might be the concert , tshirt or maybe even they bought it after they realized they liked it)
not to mention when im a student and before i got my latest job i had 2g in debt on my visa and $5.13 in my bank account
so if i pirated i can definitely say it couldn't have been a lost sale cause i couldn't afford it if i tried.

not to mention the money that is saved doesn't just evaporate it goes somewhere else potentially helping the industry (eg buying hardware and accessories with the money saved)

another point is if your the kind of person who buys a console specifically because you can pirate games your still slightly helping the industry.
for example in M$ and sony's case theyre consoles are loss-leaders because they take a loss to push out the units (nintendo unlike the rest with current machines pulls a profit of there hardware)
unfortunately at the end of a console life cycle many units arnt sold.
(usually they are liquidated by the retailer with the retailer taking the loss or just tossed orused for repair by the manufacturer)
so if someone buys a console they never would have intended to buy without piracy in the case of a loss leader the manufacturer losses less money and non-loss leaders actually gain money.

these are just a few examples you find if your willing to do the reasearch instead of repeat the BS marketing and press releases
so ultimately for the most part it comes down to a moral issue depending on your morals

anyway just thought id chime in

heres a question for you (although it mainly applies to music and movies not games and software as far as we know so far)
in canada it is debatably legal to pirate depending on how its accomplished.
so in a place where piracy is legal is it still piracy?
also if its legal is it immoral?
