I know that the Tekken: DR saves are tied off to the MAC address of the PSP that they're created on but is it possible to bury into the save game and change this information so you can put the save onto a different PSP?

In theory...yes unless it does a hash check or something. Easiest solution may be to use a MAC spoofer.

Post your save game and the MAC address of the PSP it was created on, I'll have a look at it.
If it isn't in plaintext, (which it may not be) you can either look up, MAC address spoofer, or use savegame deemer as a plugin to save the gamesave in unencrypted format, which you can then mess around with.
Idea Behind Savegame deemer:
It'll save the savegame in unencrypted form
You mess around with it
When you next load up the game it'll load the unencrypted edited version, instead.
You could also probably use CWCheat's custom cheat option to scan the memory of the game for any instances of your MAC address, change them to whatever you like and save the game.
If i where you, i would try MAC address spoofer first, it seems the easier method.

I'll try the spoofing thing. What kind of PSP utilities are out there like that?

Well, there is a plugin which spoofs the MAC, not sure at which level, probably low enough to fool anything running after boot time.
I recommend you look at savegame deemer too, it's probably a little complex to do this kind of thing, but it's a nifty little app, good for looking for savegame exploits too ;)

Since when was it tied to the MAC address? I have played my save game on 4 different PSP's without issue.
Your gonna make me pull it out again just to recheck..
