Here is my dilemma, i have aquired a 360 with 3rrod and a hitachi drive. I have fixed the 3rrod and am trying, and failing, to flash the drive. I have managed to flash a couple of hitachi drives using the usb to sata converter.
I have managed to get the drive into mode b, using slax, and have got the drive to read in the device manager, although it appears as a usb mass storage device as well as a hitachi cd/dvd drive. The cd/dvd drive has an exclamation mark next to it saying error 10, device wont start.
I am trying to use jungleflasher, as I used this before, but it wont see the drive. I have managed to get the drive to appear, but when I try to read the drive it just stops responding.
Any help gratefully received as starting to annoy me now.
Cheers guys n gals

Any chance the usb adapter you are using is one of those 3 in 1 types?
They are known to be problematic.
The other alternative option is to try the JungleUSB drivers, currently at v0.1.

Have got the drivers as jungleusb. The cd/dvd drive shows as both mass storage and as drive, but error 10 on drive.
Am using vista, maybe try xp...???

You still didnt answer one of my questions, is the adapter you have one of those three in one usb-sata types?
Eg.
http://www.labamanta.lv/cache/product_images/big/20090409/digitus_da-70148_usb_to_ide_and_sata_2_5_3_5_hdd_adapter_usb_ ide_sata_da_70148_1_a_newer.jpg
If it is, bin it and get a new one, they are known to be problematic.
Myself, I have this kit :
Esata usb adapter : http://tinyurl.com/oo6bry
Esata to sata cable : http://tinyurl.com/esatacable
Both of these work great with JungleUSB drivers, I have tested them with a 47,59, 78 and 79 hitachi with no problems!
