A rather strssed out user called rSYN emailed us to inform of his frustrations regarding the Xbox 360 wireless adapter. He says "The xbox 360 wireless adapter does NOT support WPA2 even thought it says it all over the packaging, manual and website. I'm p***ed and set up a website.
I have audio from the xbox connectivity project manager up there too where he says WPA2 is not supported. At this point, it can work by lowering security to WPA but that sucks. People are paying rolls-royce prices for a pinto!"

He has also setup a small website on Geocities in order to try and alert others to his problems...

I listened to the Major Nelson podcast #153. Where the Xbox connectivity project manager was interviewed. I forgot his name but he gave his gamertag, Delta4. My buddy fired off an in game message to Delta4 with a quick question. "Are you aware that WPA2 doesn't work with the xbox360 wireless game adapter?" He is the project manager, right? He should be aware of this issue hopefully. The answer came back soon after. "We are aware that WPA2 is not supported by the Xbox360 Wireless adapter and that is by design".

Official Website: http://www.geocities.com/gldndrxbox1/index.htm (Has a diary of his experience and extra information)

Uh oh, looks like the Xbox 360 'flaws' continue...

Im starting to feel better and better that I canceled my Pre-order in summer for the 360. That Geocities link is offline already? Damn....

Well. I dont use wireless anyways. Its not safe enough. The encryption is too easy to crack.

imo you are a little over thinking this whole wireless web issue.
I mean come-on were talking about playing a videogame on your broadband connection wirelessly. How much security do you need? Who in the right mind is gonna waste their time trying to crack your encrytion? What highly sensitive work for NASA are you hiding on your pc? Come on WAP is suffiecent for most people.

Well its not my data im worried about. Its that anyone who breaks the encryption can use my broadband connection to do illegal stuff on the internet. Also im not about to pay so that someone else can have free internet access :). Ill stick with ordinary TP cable.

here in the uk,its £59.99,and yes it doesnt support that enryption method.
also,if people do buy one,do make sure and get it from game or gamestation ,but not currys, comet, dixons, etc,as they will not return it,as its opened, and not faulty.
what a blatant ripoff it is,heck i got a router, and 2 usb connectors for that for my pc,and the kids lappys,

I would think that would be a stretch. I would try it though.
