Tecmo loves PS3 right now as it has highest specs

Tecmo has revealed why they have become rather fond of the Sony's PS3 platform. Right now, their 'move away' from Xbox 360 can be explained as the PS3 has the highest specs which suits their games better at the moment.

I just got done playing Killzone 2 and the SPECS did not help that game. It looked good nothing like the CGI video. The sound was great. But it had to load like halflife form 4 years ago. Over and Over. Then it would freeze while the HDD did something. Come on that game should have not had any loading at all! Better specs my ass. Bluray is just to slow to stream games.

Hey I have a PS3 and 360 and a nice 50" 1080p tv and you sir are wrong. PS3 has the better looking games. Ever play Uncharted and Killzone 2?? Those games look better than any game 360 currently has and Uncharted 2 will continue that. PS3 has many good games out right now and many more to come. 360 has a weaker future as far as exclusive games are concerned.
If devs really try hard on the ps3 they prove every time that ps3 has the capabilities to produce better looking games even with a slightly inferior GPU.

And the thing about multiplatform games, only certain ones look worse on ps3 and that is because they were ported over from 360 and the devs didn't do as good of a job as they should. There are plenty of good looking multiplatform games that look better on ps3: Bioshock, Oblivion, Burnout Paradise.

As far as 360 exclusives the only big hit ones are Gears 2, Halo 3 and Fable 2. Try to name anything else and it mostly likely is out for pc too. If it comes to pc it does not make it an exclusive anymore. I get sick of people trying to pull that.

Although I agree with you on live. Xbox still has the edge on online, but not by much.

My main point being, if you played Uncharted or Killzone 2 and then played Gears 2 and Mass Effect, you could easily see the better system.

I feel your pain. I am on my 5th one. The replacement model they sent me in January was the launch 360 "fixed" and with some of my games it sounds like it's scratching them or eating them up or something. I can just sense the inevitable 5th RROD will come soon. Too bad my 3 year RROD warranty expires in October. I was thinking about purposely trying to get RROD so I can get a chance at a newer Jasper model.

Tecmo has been producing Xbox exclusives since the dawn of the Xbox, and only till now they have started making PS3 games. So clearly this is not a paid statement by Sony and simply a statement coming form their true thoughts on the platform.

The only reason the Xbox seems "powerful" is because it receives a lot of attention from the big developers due to its low cost development, if the PS3 was to receive the same attention the difference is incomparable.

It's great playing without worrying about your console... shouldn't be legal selling 360 until the problem is really fixed... and a warranty extension is not the solution if they keep sending you what they send you... The quote from tecmo on the site this comes from doesn't say anything like that (the part I have put in bold), it just says they are working on PS3 games, the person writing the piece added the extra bit that it's because it has the highest spec. More fanboy nonsense it seems and definetly not news beyond tecmo making games for PS3 being the norm now.

Its kinda funny most of the "grown ups" I know gave up on PC gaming long ago and have all moved to mostly the 360 and PS3. Just judging by the folks that come into my shop the average PC gamers around here are teenagers who tend to have the "big leagues" attitude you speak of. I think attitude is the heart of it, the grownups see it as a past time and recreational activity while the teens see it as something thats actually important.

Which is why, much to my dismay I may add, the Wii is doing as it's doing. I don't like the console, I think most of the games are crap, but it seems many people don't like the wii simply because their gaming manliness would take a hit. I love all this talk about "Specs". When both Graphic Specs on each console are based on specs that are 3 or 4 generations old.

I' have both 360 and PS3. Both look pretty much the same. Sometimes the PS3 gets screwed in the 1080p department.

It all depends on what you code for and if you code for just a specific console, then you can concentrate more on that consoles strengths and weaknesses.

When it's generalized then the coding becomes more sloppy as you have to compensate for both hardware specs to make it less of a headache for the programmers, artists etc... Sucks but that is the truth of it.

As far as "Specs", they are pretty much the same. Of course the hardcore games "know it all" however.....so this debt will rage on forever.....

Frames DO make a game better, moron. They don't determine whether a game is good, but they determine whether it is playable or unplayable--for those lacking a brain, playable or better is a good thing.

Higher resolution can make a game better, but that depends on the game. In that case, you actually have somewhat of a point.

You know a lot of kids who play on PC, so? I probably know just as many adults who use their PCs for gaming. His point--I think--is that PC gaming at the hardcore level usually outreaches any monetary bounds a "kid" can afford.

MMORPGs are a different breed of games so comparing them to FPS games is pretty inconsistent. FPS games--like Halo 3, Killzone 2, and Call of Duty 4--will eventually lose customers as competing games of the same genre appears. WoW usually loses customers to competing games temporarily while new customers join the ranks.

maybe when you leave your parents house and go live on your own, you will find that it becomes more enjoyable to sit around a 50+ inch hdtv with your buddies drinking brews and playing games.

and as for the monetary side, my 54" hdtv cost $400, my xbox cost $400, those are the only two purchases i had to make, i would have spent well over $800 by now in the long run to keep my pc up to date and running every game at 1080 with good frames.

i pc gamed for over 15 years, but once i hit college i realized there is more fun to be had socially gaming with buddies.

I think you just made a similar mistake. yes saying consoles are for kiddies is pretty stupid but I do think the gamers on PCs tend to be adults and by adult I mean over 18, there certainly is a large man child community. Now your mistake is very similar because people with PCs are not living with their parents, last I checked "PC gaming under the influence" was not a crime and pretty much all recent graphic cards can be connected to that 54inch e-penis 1080p TV and actually display in 1080p. Splitscreen Console games are starting to become as rare as their PC counterparts in favour of you guessed it on-line play. So there is nothing and I mean nothing stopping a PC gamer sitting around a 50+ HDTV playing games together having a brew.

Now your mistake is very similar because people with PCs are not living with their parents, last I checked "PC gaming under the influence" was not a crime and pretty much all recent graphic cards can be connected to that 54inch e-penis 1080p TV and actually display in 1080p. Splitscreen Console games are starting to become as rare as their PC counterparts in favour of you guessed it on-line play. So there is nothing and I mean nothing stopping a PC gamer sitting around a 50+ HDTV playing games together having a brew.

I also have a monitor... so you know, i can actually play my games at a resolution consoles/tv's could only dream of. Try playing any of your consoles games with a resolution of 2560x2048, oh exactly.. you can't. A) tv's don't have such high resolutions B) even if they did your precious console would explode.

Frames DO make a game better, moron. They don't determine whether a game is good, but they determine whether it is playable or unplayable--for those lacking a brain, playable or better is a good thing.

Higher resolution can make a game better, but that depends on the game. In that case, you actually have somewhat of a point.

You know a lot of kids who play on PC, so? I probably know just as many adults who use their PCs for gaming. His point--I think--is that PC gaming at the hardcore level usually outreaches any monetary bounds a "kid" can afford.

MMORPGs are a different breed of games so comparing them to FPS games is pretty inconsistent. FPS games--like Halo 3, Killzone 2, and Call of Duty 4--will eventually lose customers as competing games of the same genre appears. WoW usually loses customers to competing games temporarily while new customers join the ranks.

i think you forgot to pickup on my sarcasm about shooters.. and as for frames? 60frames makes a game just as good as 120.. and we all know people who say pc gaming is a million times better and hardcore then console gaming only cares about fps and how a game looks.. a shooter on a console could only sell 500 000copies on a console in its lifetime, but could be the greatest shooter on pc because of the graphics alone. pc gamers are graphic nazis.
