Anyways, joost.... yipeee... I guess. Well maybe I can use it for listening to some new music, because God knows that it's impossible on MTV. What a freaking world we live in, the one thing that you see very little of in MTV is music videos, but if it's reality shows that you crave then it's right up your alley. Not that music these days is all that interesting, of course some exclusions apply.

Yeah... it's pretty bad because I talk to family in Vietnam and y'know... it works. I think Illness tries to talk down PS3 features to make himself feel better... somehow.

i dont see how an app made by the same group as skype and kazaa is said to be good from the get go because of the history.

and nivalis, if numbers meant everything then i guess xbox live is 100x better then psn, but id imagine you disagree. numbers arent everything, obviously they help. but again just because skype was successful doesnt mean this app will be. i bet a week from now no one remembers this app because
a) it sucks
b) quality is ass (but its free!!!!)
c) as sad as it is, dedicating a pc to transcode is still a better option somehow over this app

Who gives a $hit, mkv2vob will convert an MKV file in about 2 minutes without transcoding, which I can then stream to the PS3 over gigabit again without transcoding. Good enough for me.

That said, Joost, as it stands right now in this PS3 version, sucks balls. There's only a few worthless videos to choose from, and you get ass-pounded with an IE8 commercial every time you try to watch something.

xbox's sold worldwide : 30mill
xbox live accounts : 20mill (silver/gold)
psn accounts : 17mill
xbox live gold accounts active (as of nov 2008) 10mill

since you need gold to play online in almost all games on 360, then it would indicate that, since you don't on ps3, ps3 has almost twice as many people able to play online, even if it is behind in sales.

Oh and as for skype?, i don't care about joost or anything like that, but you downplayed joost because of the creator being a part of 'skype and kazaa'
But hey, lets do the same and downplay consoles a little here.
Kazaa, as **** as it was, had more users than both ps3 and 360 global lifetime sales, 60mill users at it's peak, as for skype?, let me run some numbers by you again.

360 lifetime global sales : 30mill
skype global members : 443mill (as of march 2009)

But hey, 'numbers aren't everything'.
