Help a 'Mum' with version 1.5

Hi,
Have bought a Japanese PSP with version 1.5 because I did a bit of homework, and this seemed the firmware to get & the screens are evidently better?. However, have bought my son a couple of games for Christmas, Tony Hawk (works fine) but Midnight Club 3 game says I need to upgrade to 1.52 ???

I obviously want him to be able to play the games, but I have a memory card 2 GB with 4-5 games on, and I am presuming this needs 1.5 to work?

I am totally NEWBIE to PSP and know nothing !!! - can you advise. I have worked out how to copy from PC to PSP etc, but it will be a shame if my son can't play this new game? Also, which other games will not work on 1.5 ?? Please reply soon!. Thanks . Dibdobbs

yeah that is the firmware to get and they do have better screens.
You can use a version changer to get midnight club 3 to work.
The 2gb mem stick with games are they games you own becuase if they are not that is illegal and not help will be given.
There are a lot of games that dont work with 1.5 there is a list somewhere but i cant remember.

Hi,
The games on the Mem Stick are UMD games backed up. It makes it easier, as my son loses things, he can then run 4-5 games without carrying around lots of disks.

Sorry to be a real Newbie, but what does the version changer do. I have been told that I need to keep my firmware at 1.5 and not to change. Does this change it?

The Midnight game I bought, does this actually need a different firmware.

the version changer just tricks the psp into saying that it has 1.52 or 2.0 so that the game will play

Connect the psp to the pc
open file to browse
you will see a folder psp open this
you will see a folder game open this
copy the version changer files to this folder
disconect psp
Now on the psp menu goto last options on the right
scroll down to memory stick and select
find the version changer icon click o and follow instructions

Yeah, and you can also use PSPSet to trick your FW to 2.0, and also swap the confirm button from JAP (O) to US/EUR (X) if you want.
