Team HyperX Presents IXtreme 1.6 firmware for Benq, Samsung and Liteon drives
Features:
-Strict Wave 3 compliance! hybrid (modified disks) will not boot!
-Strict drive speed compliance - 12x only for game discs!
-Support for SS V2!
-Integrated 0800 for game dumping including SS v2!
-Full support for all known game exceptions! eg ddr etc!
-One shot boot mode! - allows a one off boot of gamedisc without -stealth/partition checks (will still use stealth), use activate.iso disk to activate each time!
-Support for easy drive key/version info cmd, same as liteon!
-Strict stealth/wave checking, one shot boot mode will boot wave(x)!

Strict Wave 3 compliance means wave 3 games will only boot if they have correct PFI/DMI/SS and timestamp for wave 3

Strict drive speed compliance means games will only boot if drive is set for the initial speed of 12x, any modification of this make games fail to boot

SS v2 suports multiple timing samples for challenges type 5 and 7 , stroing them in the SS. This is a pre-requiste for SS v3 which has support for the so called AP2.5 check. Since this has never been used or may never be used by MS we will adopt a wait and see approach and continue to monitor for its usage.

With drive in Windows mode (Tray half open on powerup) 0800 mode is activated allowing easy dumping of game disc including SS v2. In this mode the drive is also able to output drive key, fw version and drive type by using a simple custom inquiry command.

Game exceptions are integrated in the fw for games that do not comply with the strict wave checks but are legitimate. These are Dance Dance Revolution Universe, Stoked, Ping 17 disk, afro samurai

One shot boot mode allows you to boot a Wave X or non stealth game by using the activate.iso disk as a flag. Just insert the activate disc and the next disc inserted will boot without any strict checks. This will still utilise full stealth if available. As soon as that disc is booted the flag is cleared, and you will have to re-insert the activate disk again to enable one shot boot. As always use with caution.

We apologize for the short delay, but we found some last minute bugs very late and wanted to make sure you guys are safe! As usual, modifying your firmware comes with NO guarantee for safety on xbox live.

Because Jf has not been programmed to recognise yet like Firmtool.

Your right, firmware field is blank but checked on xbxscene and its all fine, I am running it now. Lite on, no probs. Boots 3rd wave.

Seems that if you edit the firmware to change drive speed games will not boot.

^well that sucks, lower read speeds like 5x is what made me love ixtreme since i didn't have to hear the dumb drive spin up and be all loud, and installing games to the hd isn't an option for me since i only have a 20gb.

oh well i guess, i still think they should've let those that don't go on live or just those who prefer it mod the fw to read at lower speeds.

If you don't intend to use live stay with the older f/w. The only benefits of 1.6 are added security. If you wan't to dump games (0800) get a kreon or go back to previous f/w revisions that allowed dumping.

they gave a firmware for free it dont get on the drive as simple as that.they gave you tutorials and someone developed the hardware (or copied someone else.like ripped them off)

if you got a benq or samsung just flash it like it was a virgin drive,xtract the firmware,get key,put key into ix1.6 then write to drive.i use dosflash32 1.7 myself.

for liteon,if flashed,have your original files if not just use jungleflasher to xtract them (get ixtreme) in dvdkey.have power to drive with tray half open.use firmware tool to create the hacked and erase and write the drive.

its only recommended to restore hitachi to original state to avoid unwanted bricked states.

No need to go crazy but is it not true you're selling someones work? i know you have fixed peoples drives and i can respect that, what about selling DA's downgrader software or pandora thats considered blasphemy around here.

This was an opinion my drive is not flashed anymore (since just before the halo 3 crackdown beta arrived) because i do support game developers work and believe a game worth playing is a game worth owning, i stopped pirating games altogether, the ones i did download (deadly creatures because i didn't believe the hype) were destroyed or bought.

I don't know how you operate and that was not directly aimed at you, i understand you help people that are not skilled enough to do this, but at least if it was me doing that work and making a profit i would at least donate a % of it towards the people making the software, tell me do you do this?

Do you need the original firmware still for ixtreme 1.6 and what do you think is the best method for flashing the benq? I can't even remember what I used back then to flash it.

Use the latest Jungle flasher, it will read the drive and get all information, make firmware, erase drive and flash and verify write...

All in a few clicks and about 45 secs.
