Could it be that Wii Fit will potentially replace Phys ED across NYC public middle schools? Its possible reports the NY post who reveals that five schools are participating in a pilot of video game fitness.
The New York Post reports that five NYC public middle schools are participating in a pilot program of video-game fitness, including aerobics, yoga and balance-based games, using the Nintendo Wii Fit.
"I think anything that's going to help kids sweat and get moving can be a good strategy," said Lori Rose Benson, head of the Department of Education's Office of Fitness and Health Education.
Benson said she was personally not a "huge supporter" of the concept because it is expensive and limited in how many students can play at once.
