View Full Version : Question about Lite-On drive
I was just wondering, do I need the drive key for the flash process, or can I just flash this bad boy?
I've read other tuts, posts, etc. and this Lite-On drive is very confusing to me.
Thanks!

yes you need to read the drivekey first before flashing!
Do I need all the extra kits? I'm sorry, I've only flashed Hitachi's and Samsungs before and this is all new to me. I keep trying to read tuts, and posts online and it just seems confusing.
People are making their own, people are bridging connections, people are using solderless, etc.
I would like to flash this drive asap, what is the easiest route to go about all this?
Thanks!

if you can find someone who can do it for fair price i would have said use that option.make sure they provide you with the files for the liteon that way you might be able to flash the drive with upgrades if necessary.
:)
I'll take a shot at making the cable myself. I'm going on 8 years of soldering experience, so I might as well try first. What parts would I need from Radioshack? Everytime I google different tuts, etc. People seem to use different parts/chips.
What would be the quick and easiest way to assemble one of these cables? Thanks!
Also, I want to say Thank You so much for responding. I really appreciate it!
Ok, I did some more searching on here and got the parts that I need. Now, I don't want to make a probe, so what points on the dvd board must I solder? R707 and R708? or just R707?
Thanks!

just r707.
:)
ok wait a minute. I just made the wire, without the probe/spear like I said. I bridged R707, but I'm stuck. I have the wire, but it's not soldered to any part of the lite-on. Do I have to solder the wire to any part of the lite-on dvd board? Please help!
Thanks!
