XCM has released a new build of their Cross Battle Adapter which now supports RUMBLE. So this means you got screwed by my advertisements again. In other news we've found XCM never puts out a fully working product so they can sell revisions later for more money.

Have you ever bought anything XCM??
Ps2 and Xbox.. they had so many products its insane. THe first people to make a case that supported 3 harddrives for xbox.... All colors of cases and faceplates for consoles and handhelds that are made from the same material as the oem cases...
Just because in this generation they made 1-2 garbage products doesnt mean they suck.
Look at MS, sony,, hell every major company you think they didnt ever have a bad product *cough windows ME,vista, waterproof cassette players*cough

The original Cross Battle Adaptor was a flawed product, it would disconnect from the PS3 every 5 minutes or so, even when playing a game.
I sent mine back for a refund.
Wonder if they have fixed it with this one?

Indeed i have! i've never liked xcm i learnt my lesson early, the only thing cheaper than the plastic are the electronics, they overcharge and they underachieve, i mean how could they ship gamecube cases without screws? I do have an X3 chip in my xbox though that thing is great.
Just look at the XFPS most people that use them had to pay out for extra hardware like the XIM anyway.
How many xfps revisions did they do? lets see theres the xfps 360, the xfps 360 pro, the xfps sniper and oh look the xfps sniper plus, yet the compatibility list still is poor, if xcm had any respect they would of built them for firmware updates instead of making gamers upgrade every time they realise it doesn't do what its meant to do.
This is another example of the same thing, the device was a piece of crap and didn't even do what it was meant to, five seconds later and its revised with not even a sorry to the poor suckers that bought it.
Look i can respect that you feel XCM was great but if you've been or seen people get burnt by them over the past two years you can't help but point and laugh at them much like madcatz, i learned lessons from MS and Thrustmaster never to buy controllers without testing the D-Pad first, its not just XCM that should be called out on this.

They never did with the 5 versions of the mouse/keyboard adapter thing.

I was seriously tempted to get one of these, but after the XFPS fiasco I'm glad i didn't.
It's a shame really as they do offer what could potentially be, and likley are in their final fully functional revision, very usefull products that are what many want. As much as i'd like to get one of these, i fear that it will just be XFPS all over again, and it's alread started on that route.

They used a very poor quality chip in their old CBA, which caused it to disconnect at random periods for a significant # of consoles (seems to work fine on asian consoles only). According to their spokesperson, this is because they only test on the systems they have in-house, which does not include several models. (source: http://www.teamxcm.com/forums/playstation-3-discussion-and-help/95-xba-still-disconnects-fix-doesnt-work.html --yes, their own support forum).
Congratulations on being a beta tester for them. Your cheque is lost in the mail.
Unlike the previous version, you'll be happy to hear that this one comes with the feature of "not broken" due to popular demand. It'll just cost you $70 as opposed to the previous $50. Did Zeus forget to mention that? Oh well.

If this is the case then i think many buyers have grounds for a refund or replacement with the newer "working" version. If they are selling a product that claims to work but has never been tested on the hardware it claims to work on , it is then a manufaturer fault and in the uk at least, you are entitled to a refund or replacement with a fully working model.

Y, whats the point, why would you want to use a wired pad on a wireless capable console.
Heck yet alone buy an extra unit, if your so despratly wanting to play with a wired pad if your retarded and think "your batteries could die ect" insert a usb, ta da wired pad plus its charging.

Not quite grasped the point of the product have you, it lets you use 360 pads on the PS3, wired or not (and to be honest all wireless offers is a bit of convenience, not a diferent play experience) some people prefer the 360 pads so would welcome the oportunity to use them on a PS3. the same is no doubt true for many 360 owners, if they could use a ps pad even with a usb wire plugged into it, they would. If wires are a problem i gues this is the first gen of consoles for you.

That's good to hear.
There's rumour on the XCM support forums (where if you complain about quality, you get deleted/bannned) that they're releasing a new version of the original with this problem fixed and you can trade it in.
In principle, as a fellow unwilling beta tester, I should do that, but I honestly would rather just boycott future products/updates from XCM. I have purchased a total of five XCM related products and have been disappointed one way or another:
-XFPS Pro: Doesn't work at all
-XFPS #2: Works, but deadzone is atrociously huge and not configurable -- not worth using at all.
-Wii VGA cable: Video and Audio out of sync after several minutes
-360 Hard drive case: Screwdriver included but no screws?!?
-Cross battle adapter: Random disconnects due to poor quality chip
In all cases, they are very clever devices and I respect XCM as far as that goes, but the level of quality in the products does not come close to the price point they ask for them.
Fool me once, shame on you; fool me five or six times, ...damn. Why didn't I boycott sooner?

Alternatively, you can buy one of these:
http://www.powerwave.com.au/index.php?evnF=productImage&format=&title=Powerwave%20Controller%20(Black%20-%20360%20Shape)&id=3.43259&acode=138625
for a third of the price, and you get a STANDARD 360-style USB controller that works on your PC and your PS3 and quality-wise is nigh identical to the Xbox 360 one. I picked one up for about US$15 at the local EB and other than the fact that the rumble doesn't work (don't care, I rarely notice it anyway), I'm really happy with it! We all know how rare it is for 3rd party controllers to be any good, these ones seem to be great, despite being from an orphan company that no one has heard of.
Down-side, I don't think you can get these outside of Australia/New Zealand.
$70 for the XCM unit is a complete rip. I've got a lot of my money invested in some of their original Xbox products though which always seemed to be good quality.

Does if you press the toggle button underneath the unit. At least, mine does anyway.

According to the video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urkixP69jlc) of the new Cross Battle Adapter Plus the PS3 controller power save setting is the reason for the disconnects.

Changing this option with the old blue one didn't affect it, they still disconnected.

I just got my Cross Battle Adapter Plus today. It doesn't work.....at all.
I've been checking around on different forums and it seems to be a widespread problem. Don't waste your money. Most of them seem to be defective.
