can anyone point me anywhere to find the basic info on the who what when where why of how to get a PS2 w/Network Adapter and Hard drive to backup games and do all other sorts of stuff.

Anyone? Thanks.

ok, after doing some random googling, it seems that originally all you needed was an HDD format utility to get it to run on the browser for the PS2. what if thats not available? Also, what if an exploitable memory card is also not available?

Any memory card, within reason, will work for the Independence Exploit. You just need to have the free room.

If you don't have a memory card, you will need to get one.

The "format utility" is HDLoader itself; no separate program is needed.

Hope this helps.

Probably Ebay is your best bet to find the Network Adaptor.

I would do that first, then get a Seagate or Maxtor IDE hdd.

Then you can either install an exploit yourself, or buy HDAdvance disk (http://www.gocybershop.ca/customer/home.php) to be able to play the games.

To be able to install an exploit to your mc, you need a Cheat device of some sort, and a PS1 Original game.

If you don't have any of that, then look into getting fmcb 1.8 installed to your mc.

Or if you do buy HDAdvance disk , you can install fmcb 1.8 to your PS2 mc yourself after.

Does that help you a bit more.
