- Firstly you need to restore using the 1.4 'restore.bat' using command line prompts such as 'Restore.bat (drive letter). Then once restored to original, flash like before

1/restore it first so it wont bad flash.use either ixtreme1.4 hitachi or firmware toolbox.
2/not bothered about the changes realy.
3/dont realy know but,theres a few issues with discs reading (assasins creed) firmguard,disc jitter.
4/supposed to be safer.well if assasins creed and other games that were buggy with 14 on benq run better,better is more so better is always gonna be good.better spoofing for drives.i aint into technical jargon.
5/you use a modded console on live and get banned dont bother asking why you got banned or how to avoid a ban.you get banned then suck it up.thats the risk with modded consoles.to get paranoid when new games are released and to panic for xboxlive is a bit overboard in my opinion.
6/learn to adapt and overcome.we rarely asks questions thats what defines the real modder from the want to bes.taking on work for money then asking questions relating to the work/job here is a bit of micky realy.
7/about 4 to 6 months after the release of the xbox360 here in uk.i had my hitachi under my bed in box with no games for months.it wasnt far behind samsung was must have been 6 weeks or so after samsung fw came out.
8/bisetting dvd-rom.basicly a pioneer 111d!
9/no key/incorrect key.wrong drive entirely.in some cases its the drive messed up reading the disc (rare)
10/its when ms28 was still using the ms25 core based fw.the update came and loads of people got e66.

basicly the technical stuff i aint into but,i probably got 6/10!

A: Using firmware toolbox I do a differential flash/restore, once restored, smart hack patch the dump, then
differential flash patch the firmare to ix14 (soon to be ix15)

A: Disc Jitter fixes, bad angle support, challenge/response timing, to name a few!

3 Q: why was 1.41 only released for benq
A: because of a disc spindown error and a bug related read sector fix which apparently, was not security related.

4.Q: why is 1.50 better than 1.4
A: Because it is the latest release with many fixes to the previous release, developers don't release
new revisions unless there is good reason, updates are the way to go.


5.Q: why did i get banned with 1.4?
A: Because you took a risk and played backups online, this is the only thing we can be sure of with M$ and their banning
reasons!

A: Classic case of jumping in at the deep end, needs to educate himself more imo.

A: Not 100% sure but I think it was for the 47dj in and around mid 2006, not long after the sammy was hacked.

A: I think wtfudge is right, rubber band mod, funnily enough back in those days I hardly touched my console, tho I
remember xboxhacker having a fix for the hitachi in a thread somewhere, could have been a heat issue too? Can't remember.

A: No drive key,laser shot, cheap media or bad burn result.

A: DVD model, or version does not match that of the version expected by the dashboard, or firmware error (bad firmware)

the thing that cracks me up is the parcel2go crap he claims free redelivery but it's not

he's charging £28.50 for the flash so it's not free redelivery plus thats only the drive

special delivery via royal mail is cheaper and no doubt faster

In theory yes, in practice is another story. I can't help but think of the GC scene in this regard. New version w/improved DRE handling - DRE's worse then ever, go back to previous working version. :rolleyes:

Since there is has been no clear specific answer as to what was changed/fixed and why, it's really hard to say that.

Only matter of fact that I've hear anyone say on how it's better, atleast regarding BenQ, is that 1.4 and 1.4.1 had problems with disc errors and slow loading times that also contributed to texture/opject pop-in. That's the most specific comparison that actually said anything usefull I've seen and it still doesn't answer all the questions people keep asking.

I've used 1.4 (not even 1.4.1, just 1.4) since it came out; not banned, 0 disk errors and didn't notice any slow loading issues, even with budget noname media. With that said, I upgraded to 1.5 just for the sake of giving it a try. Tried like 30+ games; didn't notice any real difference in load times or any difference in texture/object pop-in. Out of everything I tried, I only saw ONE note worthy improvement: The main menu of SR2 isn't slow & laggy anymore.

It seems like most of the improvements are strictly on-line stealth issues. So, if you care about Live, then it's probably smart to upgrade. If you don't care about Live, I don't see much reason to bother (unless SR2 is your favorite game or something). In the least, 1.5 doesn't break anything so there is no harm in upgrading either way.
