I'm new to the wii hacking scene and want to play some back up wii games without opening up the system. Can someone point me to the correct sticky tutorial or directions? I see a lot of stickies at the top of this board but I want to make sure I get the one with that doesn't open up the wii.
Also how dangerous is it to do this? What are the chances of me bricking my Wii?

Ok that guide is perfect but one question, do I need to have a SD card in while playing back up games? My sister has an SD card but I was just going to borrow it to install the stuff then return it to her. Do I need the SD card in at all times?

And one more question: How do I back up the existing Zelda save I have now so I don't lose it when the guide says to erase it?
So that's 2 questions, do I need to have a SD card in while playing back up games and how do I back up existing Zelda save being installing?

if the backup launcher installs a channel (I use a mod chip, so IDK) then you wouldn't need an SD card..
the Wii has the option to copy gamesaves over to your SD card in the data management section...That should also set up the folder structure for you!

Sorry for all the questions, but one last one. Can I burn a Gamecube game onto a DVD-R 4.7GB disc and play it on my softmodded Wii? The reason for this is that I let my friend borrow 6 GC games way back in 2005 in exchange for borrowing his xbox. He ended up losing the GC games and I never really felt like repaying for them. As for Wii games I buy them legitly, even with this new softmod I got, just bought MP3 last week.

as of yet, there is no GC backup softmod available.. but a modchip does work...
