Sony must be really angry about how low LBP sales are. They are really burning through their wallets with all this media payoff. Best innovation? These edge writers must not have played the NES.

GTA4 has been the best game of 2008 for me, hands fucking down.


It was a totally different game from GTA:SA as they have aimed for a whole different experience. I didn't miss any features SA had, they would really ruin the experience this time around.

One of the best, cinematic experiences in the history of gaming.


Unlike SOME game which sucked major balls (Fallout 3). Bethesda sure knows how to ruin your favourite franchise.

I also disagree with the 360 as best hardware. Hardware shouldn't fail so easily before it can be considered for an award for such. LBP is a worthy winner of so many awards in my opinion. Even if its not your thing anyone can see its trying something new and succeeds at what it does even if not in the high sales figures way.

Though I find the most interesting thing in edge this month is the review section as it doesn't look good for any game and especially for 360 exclusives.

First LOL @ Beats Off. Second, LBP is crap and I can't take anyone seriously that rates it as a good game. Yes I have tried it and I also played GTAIV on 360. I would choose GTA over LBP without hesitation. I also think there are better games than GTAIV but understand that not all games appeal to all people.

This is complete bullshit how can such a niche game as this super mario construction kit get best game? Might as well name level editor for Far Cry 2 or modding kit for Fallout 3 game of the year. GTA4 is on PC ps3 and 360 it got great scores and destroyed most releases of the year in sales.
As for best hardware 360 deserved it since best hardware should be measured on performance not reliability and 360 clearly is the most powerful hardware of this generation no matter how loud ps3 fanboys can yell the opposite in their usual state of self delusion.

and i think there are ways around the hard drive, by not having to buy the official one, but i could be wrong. but to an extent its probably cheaper to just go one step up and buy the pro. the pro version now comes with a 60GB hard drive and two games and a headset. and now that the new revision of the 360 is out with a 65nm gpu and a 65nm cpu it should perform better. granted microsofts hardware in the 360 should have been flawless in the first place but considering sony's issues with hardware in the psone and PS2 sony people don't have much room to talk.

and while the wii's graphics are less than impressive than the PS3 and 360 some of the newer games have shown it is more than an overclocked gamecube.

You dont always have the luxury of using a wired connection... I'm sorry, but I'm not gonna run a 40 foot cable from my modem to my ps3 (through 3 rooms). And I have never had any problems while using wifi in any online games... Not saying wifi is better, just that I love how I have both and can use either one when the situation calls for it

maybe i am different, but if i was going to not run wired i would still probably go with an N based router that i could flash DD-WRT onto. that way i could hook up anything else i needed in the room as well, plus customize anything i needed via the DD-WRT firmware.

The mention of GTA4 bit sunk this for me, GTA4 was one of the most overhyped game sin recent history and failed to live up to it's promises, so if that was contender then then the rest are lacking credibility for me. As for LBP, it's hardly a game and more of a utility or tool, so I fail to see how it gets a best game title. The innovation one tho is thoroughly deserved for a console title even if I don't personally like it as i fot bored of it very quickly, but many are enjoying the novelty of it.

personally, I was extremely excited with GTA4. Until I played the game. Nothing new, no innovations etc. The multiplayer? PSP's GTA was also with multiplayer, so was GTA2 if I remembered correctly. Aside from shiny graphics, nothing. The best GTA is still San Andreas. The storyline was good, it was long, the twist is kewl, the combat system,and the character development was amazing (eat too much and watch CJ grow lol)

Lol as much as i love MGS4 it was in no way shape or form deserving of best gfx so that just show how much of a sham that award was, as for killzone 2, i'm sorry got to go with trashcat on this one, I just don't see the how people are thinking it's so great, it looks like any other FPS out at the mo (thats no bad thing but it's not by any means outstanding). The PS3 and 360 are fairly evenly matched hardware wise and anyone who claims otherwise is in a dream world.
