View Full Version : Barack Obama reportedly loves the Microsot Zune
Reports are denoting that Barack Obama is secretly a Microsoft Zune user. Although, Obama has been known to be a MAC user so syncing up the two could be a problem, unless Obama is more tech savvy then we thought!
After all of the misinformation and dirty lies spread about Obama over the course of the presidential campaign, this is the most shocking I've heard about him: He uses a Zune. This can't be possible.
Why? Because, as has been widely reported, Obama, many of his staffers and Joe Biden use a Mac. And well, Zunes don't work on Macs and ... my mind is blown.
So, he's either more personally tech savvy than we thought and uses Boot Camp or Parallels to sync up his Zune for working out—which is a lot of effort just to do that, really—showing just how committed he is to reaching across the aisle in all kinds of ways, or he secretly has a PC too. Or.. what if all that Mac stuff was just a lie to attract the young, Twittering college crowd? What if his whole campaign was a lie? Is the world even real? Hold me.

must no. Stupid ipod people. If steve job **** in a box and put a apple logo on it people would pay $399.00 bucks for it, and tell everyone how great it is, and how they lined up at the store for it 15 weeks early.

You realize, now, that $399 is the price of the most expensive iPod they make, right? The 120 gig HD-based iPod is $250.

I have both ipods and a zune in my house, im in love with my Ipod touch at the moment but if it weren't for the non-music features of that I would prefer the zune. As a pure music device I find the zune to be quite good.

Again **** in a box for $399. They call it the iPoo. It comes with iTP, but can upgrade to iWetwipes for only $199 more. What a deal.

You all realize that Creative Zen beats both Ipod and Zune by far? Really, the Ipod and it's worthless clone sucks ass once you get Appel (or MS) out of your head.
Oh yes :P

Never had a zen I would not know. All I know is the Zune works great on my xbox. Does the zen?

Is this site sponsored by Zune's I wonder. Its not exactly anything special that many devices available across the whole world can't do and probably better. Didn't know what one was until I read it on here once.
Creative zen's have been keeping ipods company as a quality device for many years and most mobile phones have large enough storage for media so not much room for this niche product really.
This is Obama's version of Gordon Brown's ipod moment to feel like he connects to the young lol.
The apple products i would recommand getting is iphone or the ibook, other than that they are just a rip off, look at how many different version of ipod, ipod mini, ipod nano, video ipod, ipod touch.. not to mention they even publicly mention ipod is an outdated tech.

As with everyone's posts, this is just my opinion, but I love the Zune. I also just recently upgraded to the GoW 120g from my old 30g. The main thing here is the computer software. I really do not like iTunes, just so hard to line up songs to sync if you aren't doing everything and the layout is odd. And even though I'm not completely in love with the Zune sofware, I find it much easier to use. However, my uncle has one of the iTouch's and I love the idea of the wireless internet at your fingertips in any WiFi area. So hopefully MS will hook the Zune up with that soon!!

Still not sure what you're on about. You're upset that they offer higher end models? iPod is $10 more for the 8 gig flash model, $20 more for the 16 gig flash model, and priced equally for the 120 gig HD model.
Maybe you need to use those iWetWipes to clean up your own tears? Or to polish your thoughts on why iPods suck, because you haven't presented anything substantive.
You say the Zunes work well with your Xbox. That's a substantive reason to prefer the Zune. Maybe we should work from that. So do iPods not play well with Xboxen?

I haven't had a problem with that. I just set up a number of playlists (both manually managed normal ones and "smart" ones that will auto-fetch stuff based on criteria) and tell iTunes to just sync those playlists.
But I can definitely understand someone disliking the iPod (or the Zune) if they dislike the software that interfaces with it. I hated the Creative Muvo because the Jukebox software that it came with was crap.

Its nothing about ipods. They work great. Its the blind obedience mac people have to Steve Jobs, telling them what they need. And repackage the same thing every few months and call it by a new name, and way over price a lot of their stuff. A good example is the iphone first one came out on the edge network, everyone bitched about it, 6 months later they came out the the 3g model and the same people went out and got that one too. Do you not think they did that just to make more money. I am sure they were working on the 3g prototype before the original edge iphone came out. Takes a while to pen a deal to get the 3g chips, then to put them in the phone, get the software to work with it, and fcc approval. I have been in the IT field for over 10 years and have seen it going on for a long time.
**edit** And this does not pertain to all mac users. Just the "special ones"

Repackaging everything is just marketing at work. Nintendo and Sony do this all the time with their stuff, especially in Japan. At least Apple usually adds a gig or two of storage, or reduces prices. Nintendo just paints their DS a different color, adds nothing, and sells it for the same price.
However, even if there are no changes, this isn't necessarily meant to make current customers repurchase, it's meant to expand their market. When the DS came out, lots of people bought them. Lots of people ignored them. Lots of people were maybe on the fence....until they saw that cute pink one. Of course, some people WILL re-purchase a product, and yes, let's laugh at them.
I bought an original iPhone. On the day after launch. Two months later they reduced the price $200. Did I care? Well, not really. I was really eager to get the iPhone--partly because my previous phone was in desperate need of replacement. A piece of crap temporary phone because my Treo had broke (again). If someone had offered me a chance to pay an extra $200 to get the iPhone 2 months early, I probably would have done it. So I had no problem with their price drop.
How is it bad for me if more people buy iphones? It just means more developer and peripheral maker attention for my handset.
When they came out with 3G I did not upgrade. It's not worth it, to me, to pay $200 plus an extra $15 every month (AT&T jacked up their prices too) just to get GPS, slightly faster transfer rate, and a normal headphone jack.
In fact, nobody I knew with the original iPhone upgraded...but a lot of my friends who didn't previously have iPhones took the plunge with the 3G model. They got a lot of new customers.
It may SEEM like the same Apple drones are buying repackaged product over and over again, at every release, but I suspect that's not as true as it used to be. Apple gained that reputation for die-hard fans with its computers, which maybe were refreshed every year, not every quarter. With iPods, Apple's customers are the mass market, not Mac fanboys.
I can understand the frustration if you like a new product, and are like "man, if only they had a GREEN one! but it's cool, I will buy it..." and then 3 months later, there is a green one.. But that is your problem. You were the one with product-envy and impatience. I wouldn't blame Apple for expanding their product line over time.
Maybe we're just accustomed to companies that make a product and then sit on their butts with it for five years, doing nothing with it. Somehow, the lack of progress and improvement makes us feel like we're getting a better deal, because the product we bought 3 years ago is still the high end and there's nothing else we would want as a replacement. Stagnation FTW.

Like I said does not apply to everyone who buys apple stuff, and does not look like you are like that. And I know every company does it, Hell look was vista SP2, oh sorry I mean Windows 7. Its the fanboy, and apple seems to have the die hard ones. Hell I remember over 10 years ago someone I worked with treated the apple like it was a religion. People just buy into the hype, thats what they are good at, selling hype. Like the mac vs. pc commercials. Come on the tag of your not cool if you use a PC. That just kind of a stretch when they only own about 10 to 11% on the market.

There are definitely obnoxious fanboys of Apple. And iPods. But there are for Zunes, too. Pretty much for everything. I was about to say maybe not for water (the liquid), but then I remembered bottled water and yes there are fanboys for water too.

I love my Zune! I have a 120gb now, I umm, "upgraded" my 30gb, by cashing in on my Bestbuy warrantee, LOL.
I don't like the touch pad on the 120gb, but It's workable. I don't like the Zune Media manager program, I wish it was just rolled in Media Player 11.
I have 5300 MP3s on it.
