its not about how it plays them its about how its quieter, cooler and less power consuming than current boards.

I've been waiting for the Jaspers, but how do you know if you're buying one? Which packages carry it? Model numbers? Some help please.

I bought my 360 like a month ago and it has a jasper mobo, nothing new about that LOL, I can tell because it has a power supply of 150W

its not about how it plays them its about how its quieter, cooler and less power consuming than current boards.

thats what i was refering to with the rrod, only time will tell if its any better than say the falcon, or if there is any problems with it at all, personally i can really care less, all my boxs are a o k. i just dont see what all the hype is. its just another xbox.

I hope this finally allows you to play games at reasonable sound levels instead of having to pump the volume up to stop the Vietnam authentic huey sound mine makes even with a whisper fan installed. If quiet enough maybe even be useful as a media centre as it was designed and not ruin films scores finally.

If it is making that kind of noise, it must be the dvd drive. Mine is quieter than my PC is. BTW, why do you want to use it as a media center when you have a ps3?

No its the fans for definite as its before I even put a disc in(if I can as mine has a dodgy drive tray) . It probably is only as loud as some pc's but my pc is very quiet and my ps3 is very very quiet.

The media centre bit is because I was thinking if in future I want to put it in say my bedroom as its getting absolutely no use where it is now in the living room to then run xvids off it or h264 as it lacks blu-ray or maybe even to play some games. I won't pay for online so no worries about internet connection for it. But obviously need a quiet machine as do not want to blast the sound on the tv to mask the machine noise and wake my kids.

I can only suggest trying a different fan. Mine is a stock fan and can't hear it even when you're near the box.

It is so that you won't need HD or mem card to install NXE and you can use it for game saves as well.
