Hi All,

I have a friend who read the Lite On replacement hack and reckons he could solder the 2 points easily if i got a CK3 pro kit... got the kit and handed over my elite. Got it back today and he has made a complete balls up of it. opened up the drive to take a look and he has scratched all around the points and now the drive wont eject or do bugger all really...

Dont suppose anyone has any ideas short of buying a new elite and beating 229 quid out of my "mate" ??

From the looks of the PCB vs Pictures on the net, I think he has knocked off am couple of resistors either side.

so much for a good mate eh!

you should have given it to someone who does know what they are doing.

wherte the rersistors are knocked of i am sure you can still just bridge them like the two points where there are not any.those points r707 and r708 were the ones he should bridge.all he had to was was r707.

i cant say any more as i dont deal with knackered boards,i only touch virgin ones.

but,if you can post pic it might help someone to help you.
:)
