I'm trying to get the key off a lite on. I have the team xecuter v3 kit (serial). When I connect it to the computer and power it on, it waits a second then the light blinks repeatedly and the drive won't eject. I cannot eject the drive from the kit. Any help would be appreciated.

I cant say i have ever had that problem, other than to add that sometimes, it takes a couple of presses of the eject button when the drive is powering up and thats when using a 360 xtractor. Works fine when using CKv2.
Have you tried another drive connected to the CKv3? Same symptoms?

remove the top and bottom of the drive.then flip it so you see the underside of the drive.look on the right side where the wires are and you will see a slidey thing that will slide from right to left and push it and it will go in,the more you push it the more it slides, push it till your tray ejects.

the thing is only a little further back from the front of the drive so you wont be able to miss it.onviously its on the pcb side of the drive.

I connected it to another drive and it worked fine. I tried to dump THAT drive over serial but it kept giving me a bad key, I was probably just doing it wrong. I got the lite on to eject once but the red led just kept flashing and when I tried to dump over serial it just timed out. I can hear the motor start spinning when I plug it into the ck3 and hit eject but it stops after a second and the led just keeps flashing.

On a side note, what do the 2 jumpers you solder actually do? I was just wondering if that could be the problem. I did solder them and they should be bridged properly.

Again, all your help is appreciated.

You really shouldn't hijack someones elses thread, but if I were you, I would wrap that unit back up and take it back, tell em it did not work from the get go.
If you fried the unit (which you will do if you connect the power cable incorrectly) that's really the only option you have, afaik, you can't read the key from the liteon drives board, so you are screwed so to speak.

you dont need to bridge both points, just r707 will do.its tx or transmit.transmit from the board is cut all you are doing is reconnecting it so you get transmission.you are grabbing the key via serial and that is connected to power port with the kit,it is wired to connect to tx (transmit) on the board but,you wont get anything if you dont reconnect tx (tranmsmit) as its cut.

ALSO DONT USE SERIAL USE THE USB LEAD.GRAB THE DRIVERS OF XECTUERS SITE.

using serial grabs nothing but cccc's otherwise.

the com port will be changed though.

just use xttractorreader.

i found my com port was 3.you will know when you select the com,if it aint the right one nothing will happen

Ok, thx. I still don't know why it won't eject or read the key. I even tried using an external molex connector from an external drive kit that plugs into the wall and it still won't eject.

manualy eject the tray the way i described earlier.also stay away from serial lead it is pain,i only got cccc's with it.plugs in usb lead, runs the drivers from xecuters site and when i got right com port with xtractorreader i grabbed key first time.

The problem seems to be that the light just flashes like it wants to eject the drive but won't. I can't even get it to send the data since it won't eject. If I plug it in without hitting eject the led does the same thing.

so basicly as soon as you power the kit you have a problem?

you can just use the kit to power the drive.you can manualy eject the tray yourself.means opening the drive but, theres a thing to push inside the drive located near the pcb and it will eject the tray, you just pull the tray halfway out by hand.that way you just use the ck3 to power the drive and obviously for xtraction of key etc.

As soon I connect it up to the drive after about 2 seconds it starts flashing red and doesn't eject and I can't connect via serial. Even if I manage to get the drive tray out it still won't connect.

all i know is the kit will give red light but i know it dosnt flash with me.it stays on constantly.

i use usb i dont use the serial.the kit comes with a usb lead try it.it wont work though unless you get the usb drivers from xecuters site.

I tried serial lead with xtractor reader and xecuters tool and it worked fine, not sure what the problem could be? I am guessing your com port is fine as I know you used rs232 adapter before you had the CKv3.

I only got the lite version because it was for a friend and he bought it for me so I can do the flash. It only came with the serial port. I tried this on 2 computers with different chipsets. I even connected it to an external power source not connected to a computer, still just flashes red.

you could try powering the drive from the 360.i dont personaly know how as i have not done it.i assume its the power cable that gos into the back of the drive, you would have to power on the console, then unplug the power to drive and then manualy eject the tray, then just simply plug the power back in.

find out first, dont just take my word for it.

trouble with the 360 powering the drive method is,you will have to solder in the rs3232.

just a thought.
