hello every one, i am very new to this site. i have a Hitachi 47d with a via vt6241a chipset. i have it pluged into the internal port facing the front of the computer, with nothing else connected to the card. i can get my drive in mode b, but i can not get my computer to recognize it. i did not use mtkflash. i don't need to, do i? i have checked in device manager, it isn't there. i have read all the tutorials for the past 3 mo.s i have not found any that is just for the 47d. can anyone help me on letting me know what the next step is. i do'nt know anyone personally who has flashed a 360. thank you for your time.

It's easy to flash a 47dj, there are 2 ways you can do it, the first you can use the batch files that come with the iXtreme firmware for the 47dj (flashix.bat) the second way you need to do it in firmware toolbox (easy gui application by maximus, a must have app for xbox 360 flashing), download Textbooks Tutorial (pdf) from here :

You can flash the 47d exactly as you would a 78 in that guide, I would add that for hitachi's, I have always had success using my onboard nforce sata over my via card, if you have onboard intel thats ok too. Other members here will attest to that, it can be easy to brick a hitachi if you are not entirely sure what to do, so best advice I can give is read the guide linked to above thoroughly before doing anything. Ask more questions here if you are unsure of anything, good luck!

if you are 100% sure its in modeb,then go,my com puter/manage/decice manager and look in dvdroms.if you see that a rom is listed that you dont have,in otherwords if you only have 1 rom and can see 2 there,click on the one that you think is the hitachi (should have hl in its name) and cllickl enable/update then it might show in my computer as a device.

could be just a case of the drive needs to be populated.
