Hey, I did every step that the guides tell me to do. So here is were i am lost. So I installed DVDX and I installed the Cios thing. Now i come to load the copied (I own the real game) Wii play game and this is what I get;

[+] Please insert a Wii game disc... OK!

[+] Resetting drive... OK!
[+] Title identification... ERROR! (ret = -4100)

Press any button to restart the Wii...

So what do I do to fix this? I dont support piracy as is, but since we have 2 Wiis in the house it would be nice to be able to play Wii Play or something at the same time in one household, lol... So yeah, Hope you can help me!

Thanks a bunch guys.

Did you patch the ISO with the backup-creator.exe. I had the same problem as you did using imgburn but all was fine with nero.

Yeah I patched the iso file.. Um s what your saying is to use nero instead of Imgburn? And that should help?

EDIT-- I ran it with the bookmark or bookworm thing, and still nothing. I tried IMGburn and Nero and they both did not work! Thanks for the help.. Any other suggesttions?

I just did some googling and came across two pages that helped me.

First was http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46559 which told me about booktype setting, and how to do it using Nero CD Speed.

The second was http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=1461 which told me how to do it directly in ImgBurn. But since I set it in Nero CD Speed, it was already changed in ImgBurn. I am guessing its a permanent setting either stored on the burner, or somewhere in the windows registry.

Good luck!

1. burn at the lowest speed and finalise the disc.
2. did you install the custom IOS?

Hey, sorry for the really late reply. I tried everything you guys said and nothing worked. So I think I might just re solder it to the board itself and go from there.

Um, I am serious about not pirating, I have purchase so many games for my PSP and PS3. I know about modding my PSP and I trully think its dumb. Here we have these developers creating a game for your entertainment and then instead of paying for a game you download it??? That is like stealing!!

Had the same problem and it wasn't to do with burning.

I burnt at 6x (slowest drive would go) on some TDK discs that no one recommends, using Nero 5 with Wii Sports and it works fine.

It was the order in which things were installed....

1. Get Custom IOS Uninstaller v1.1 and remove IOS 249 (which you may have added when you backed up the DVD)

2. Uninstall DVDx.

3. Get Wad manager 1.21 and install CIOS36_rev5-64-v1042.wad FIRST!!!

4. Install DVDx and select ADVANCED and select IOS 249 (press > on Wiimote to change it from 35)

5. Install Channel version of HB Launcher HB-backuplauncher.dol.wad using Wad Manager 1.21 again and launch it, OR just use the Homebrew channel to launch the normal boot.dol version. More fun having it's own channel though.

You MUST install CIOS36 first, and you NEED to select Advanced with DVDx and IOS249.

Should just work then.
