This is one awesome product, far superior to the XCM HD connect as the installation is internal and offers much more compatibility.

gee, great idea. buy a slimline PS2, pay another 60 bucks, and turn it back into a fullsize model.

Does this require any type of solidering? Or is it plug and play?

To previous poster: Considering how hard it is to find old Ps2 version, yes it's a great idea!

not if it costs almost 50% of the actual ps2.

and yes, you will have to solder, since all the points for the HD are internal on the MB.
it's hardly more than a plastic box and a HD adapter.

Where I live only junkies sell ps2 for 30-50$ or less. And I prefer not doing bussiness with them. This one looks cool! but the requirement for soldering sucks...
