I'm trying to find the thread, but having no luck.
One I'm looking for is the one that discusses about umd dumpers.
Something about that built in umd dumper dumps iso with extra 2000 bytes attatched to it blah blah blah.
Anyone know where it is?

No sorry havent seen that thread before. But I did hear that the built in umd dumper does not give the correct size. Hope the m33 crew recognize this.

Btw, is that the case ALWAYS?

Well what did u want to know moky? Doing the dump from M33 leaves off 2kb but doing it from pspfiler does it proper. It needs to be done proper for ripkits.

I'm interested in the reason for that if you happen to know. Besides, I wonder why it hasnt been fixed yet?

plus, I ripped some iso movies with my psp, should I do it again or is my dump good? How would I know if its not good? it wont run?

I know with atleast slims the video iso only works with a umd in the drive. I dunno about phats as they dont have a umd switch. SO game in and video in ISO/Video then use the vsh menu to mount the iso the umd will spin up tht icon will appear below (instead of above) the video icon.

PSPFiler cant dump video umd's so u use the M33 dumper. There is techincly NOTHING wrong with the m33 dumper unless ur using ripkits which rely on the data being 100% the same as it was setup for.

As for the iso movies, yeah thats the thing, I ripped it with the built in dumper and made a back up on DVD's. Didnt bother checking whether its running or not. I wish there was someway we could verify if it was a good dump or not.

Whats not to say that pspfiler is doing it wrong? PSPfiler is older then the built in umd dumper and thats why all the ripkits were designed to work with files dumped from pspfiler. But PSPfiler might be dumping 2 extra kb from a raw "secter" rather then M33 Dumper missing 2 useless kb.

If this were the case, no reason to change pspfiler because it would SCREW everyone over with using ripkits and no reason to change M33 dumper because its not wrong.

The real question here what about explora 1.6 it now has a umd dumper does it do the same as m33 or the same as pspfiler or did we get a third possibility?

Still wondering whether this the 2kb error in dumping happens always or just frequently, whether its on all psps or just slim, and whether its on games or movies as well
