Amazon has now put up the PS3's official wireless keypad for pre-order. They've put up a November 30th release date on it but it is priced at $49.99. Perhaps just a bit too pricey for what it is?

The madcatz thumb keyboard for ps3 has been out for about 18 months and is cheaper and clearly where Sony got its inspiration for this keyboard from.

Good ole Sonazi, bless their cotton socks, $50.00 dollars for a keyboard.

I must now buy some more Sonazi products to support this lovely company.

I like it but seeing as how I rarely type on the PS3, it's not worth a purchase.

the madcatz one was a horrible design they should have never coppied it, if were going to copy they should have coppied the m$ one. this design sucks you have to completely change your hand position to type.

Yeah that is way to much maybe $20 would be a good price. I just use a $5 used usb keyboard. Same with 360.

$50 for an out of place contraption? Lol. Can't you just plug in a standard USB keyboard?

How much does the Xbox chatpad cost?
Is it bulky?
Is it bluetooth?

To above poster: not everyone has a usb keyboard.
How is it out of place? It ON the controller.

What does bluetooth have anything to do with this?

As retarded as the Xbox one is, it makes more sense being at the base of the controller, because you can use it without needing to re-locate your hands. I don't know if you've got some freakish thumbs, but my thumbs don't extend 2-3" past the top of the contoller

$23.95 at Amazon ($29.95 list price)

Is it bulky?
No

Is it bluetooth?
BT isn;t needed as it uses the controllers wireless connection to send data to the Xbox360

To above poster: not everyone has a usb keyboard.
The Playstation 3 USB Keyboard by Logitech costs all of $19.99 at Amazon, or a no brand USB keyboard for $10.99

How is it out of place? It ON the controller.
It's very likely going to be awark to use.

you can get a USB KB for like $7 in staples, office max, office depot, or many other office supply stores like that.

this thing costs $50 because it has it's own Lithium Ion battery and is bluetooth, and other comparable bluetooth micro-sized keyboards are around the same price.

comparing it to non-bluetooth devices or devices that don't have a built in rechargeable battery is a waste of time.

yeah, a $7 keyboard is cheaper (that's what i use on PS3 and 360) but may not be as convenient.

Are you in your 30's? You must have understood what I was getting at.
USB and BT aren't in the same league. And the keypad is covered by Sony
as it's not third party.

As I see it, kids who don't buy their own stuff with their hard earned money shouldn't be posting. They don't know the word "value". Instead it's "MSRP". Thank you MS for teaching kids to go the cheap way with the Xbox360.

I'm a first gen x-boxer and I think the chatpad looks too dorky with the current controllers.
I can't game with a brick in my hand. Should have learned from the "Duke" controller.
Bigger isn't always important. It could be a distraction.

$50, no way. but you could just use any usb keyboard on the PS3 even Bluetooth ones I think so no biggy. I doubt this is even the real price stores tend to put high prices on things that havent been released yet to avoid getting into any trouble same thing happened with PlayTV.
