Hi all,
Is there a way I can use my Qoob SX chip + my broadband adapter to backup my memory card onto my PC. I really dont want to buy another one so I'm hoping some clever bunny had the same problem and wrote some cool software to do this!
Any other suggestions welcome. :)
Thanks.

Try loading GCOS onto your qoob then sending ctr-gcs through netcat.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm a bit confused on the requirement for the GCOS BIOS. Can't I run the .DOL file using my standard Qoob 1.3c BIOS (off a standard Joliet DVD-R) and then execute the ctr-gcs binary on my PC? Or does ctr-gcs only work with GCOS? If so any specific version.
Thanks.

The best and easiest way to back-up savegames, is to buy an USB memorycard from Liksang. It's only $35 and it's worth it.
a few up and downsides of the memory card:
+ You can back your savegames on your pc:)
+ You can even backup saves of Phantasy Star Online (these can't be copied from memcard to memcard)
+ Strangely, it saves and loads twice as fast as a regular memcard
- A bit big
- With almost every game, you must reinsert the memcard, because all the games say that it's corrupted, but works fine after reinserting:P
I know you said you didn't want to buy another memcard, but backuping your saves is much easier and faster this way....

you can also use an SD Gecko to connect an SD memory card (currently up to 2GB) to your GC via the memorycard port. It's less than half the $$$ of the USB connector but you do have to buy an SD memory card that you may already have in your camera.

Hold on a sec.. Say that again?
Can SD cards be used for gamesaves??
Have I been missing out on something?
How do you put saves on there then? Do you just copy the gci files on it?
And is there anybody out there who has successfuly used ctr-gcs with qoob pro/sx? I can't get it to work either. It corrupts my original card too. Can't even read from it.

No SD cards cant be used to savegames. I have used ctr-gcs with my qoob pro about a month ago to make a softmod memory card for a freind that was an image of my card then over writen each file so he could see them (the memory card id problem).
The easy way is with a usb card I currently use my usb card alot.
