Since this game is coming out Nov. 8, is the beta over cause I see no more Socom beta Server and states "Connect Failure". It was working before but I don't know if pspset messed up my wifi.

I can still access internet thru wifi and browser so I have internet. So I just want to confirm if someone else can't access the Socom beta server has of Tues Nov. 1, 05.

Most likely Sony pulled the plug but, can't wait to buy the Retail...

Thanks m8s

Maybe they finally found a way to prevent non-legit copies of the beta UIMD to play it ?

Nah, just kidding, I know you have a regular copy. Haven't you ? :D :D

Yes the server is now closed. As beta has finished testing the game.
Retail hits Nov. 9th.

thanks for the confirm, I had feared my wifi just stopped because of a couple of background changes using pspset8.

I've tried twisted metal but it keeps disconectting & don't come close to the quality of internet performance found in socom. Its a gr8 shooter and smooth online play.

does anyone know if socom will require v2.0? r all new games like this?

thanks m8s =)

P.S. just picked Socom preorder on newegg.com 36.99 and headphones/mic from ebgames 19.99...huurah

I have no clue as to what firmware Socom will require.
We will have wait and see until info is released on it.
I'm guessing fw 2.0 would be what all new games will be on.

Yes I played it also and it is truely a nice game for a handheld like the psp.
I very rarely experienced lag and had a great time playing. Can't wait for it to hit retail.
I look forward to playing the other maps than the one that was available for beta.

Update
Just bought the retail of Socom and yes it requires 2.0 just like all the recent games... GTA, LOTR, Hustle.

Compared to the beta version, the retail game is even better. First hand impression: I played a little online mode and it's more expansive than the beta's one level. Really works quite well. I have read at Max Console News that there is even a headset in the works that I must get in order to fully experience the game. It's pretty unbelievable that this is all happening on a handheld like the psp. The offline campaign mode is now what I'm playing through in order to unlock some stuff to play online. It also is very good. I highly recommend you all to get this game, it's well worth the $39.99 msrp. You won't be disappointed.
p.s. Someone asked about loadtimes. Pretty much nill compared to MC3. Very minimal at the start of each level. Maybe clocking in at 20 - 30 seconds.
