No, if you get the wii-clip w/ a wiikey.

Yes, if you get the wii-clip v4c for instance w/ a d2pro.

Just Like to say that I ordered the clip+ chip from didineedthis, it arrived the following day, opened the wii up, clipped it into place and all is working fine!!!
