Okay, I not an idiot with PC/360...
Modded my old XboX 1.
Trying to flash a Hitachi drive.
Is it harder than the others?
-Before I open my Xbox what do I need first? Can I get it from Bestbuy or Walmart? (I prefer getting from the store, not internet.)
How long will it take?
If I get the redlights or it gets banned can I just put my 360 back together (without them knowing it's modded) and ship it to MS or return it Bestbuy?
Do they ban the 360 or accounts or both?

I did. Common sense hit me. Anyways I'm burning the SLAX CD so I just put it into my 360 to access the debug menu to flash? (I dont have the SATA cable yet, I'm just wondering.)

no you hook up the hitachi drive to the pc's master sata port, use the 360 to power it.
you set a cd/dvdrom to be first boot device in the pc's bios and boot slaxcd from there.
just outta interest, what hitachi drive version do you have?

Honestly, I haven't opened my 360 yet, but I'm hoping it will work with the SLAX method. All I can tell you I have a year old Hitachi drive.
-edit: Offtopic: Can you make first post at the top and not bottom?

you might have an hitachi79.they came out back end of 2007.if it is hitachi79 you will have to solder in a passskey to enable read/write mode for the drive.
it might be an hitachi78 that has be be done with firmware toolbox.

Is the 79 the hard one that requires the 2 wired method .
So is the only real way to find out is by opening my 360?
I guess I should return this to bestbuy and get a BenQ?
