Is there ANY way or hack out of this?

I bought a game named Brian Lara Cricket 2007... it was a PAL game. i thought that all original games regardless of the region were playable on a xbox hacked to run backups. so i tried, and failed. my xbox is a NTSC one.

any way out of this? :confused:

You heard wrong. The region coding has not been hacked since it would change the signature on the disc and not run. Some games are region free, most aren't. There is absolutely nothing you can do besides buying the correct region game.

well you can rip it with XBC, which can make region free iso's...

i noticed some games ripped region free and then others are just ntsc.

no program can make a backup region free

if the game is locked to a region it will stay that way

heres a quick pointer for you.

EA games are all region locked.in otherwords,ntsc is ntsc and no other region can play it same for pal is only for pal.

EA do not do mulitple region or region free games.

i've ripped many as region free, but they are ntsc discs of course.

xbc doesnt make them region free the game is probably already region free

if the game comes back as PAL,NTSC or REGION FREE it's because the game was made like that

Those region "boxes" are for information purposes only.
They show the region of your current iso/disc.
You cannot uncheck or check them.

I know it has already been said by others in this thread but i think you need final clarification.

All Xbox360 consoles are region locked, this cannot be altered in any way at this point in time and judging by the tight security on the console (3 years and the os/dashboard still aint hacked) it's not going to happen any time soon.
Having said that, you can play REGION FREE releases from any region (NTSC-U, NTSC-J etc) on a PAL console and vice versa.
You cannot however make a region locked game region free, it is not possible, period.
Check abgx for region information on games.

Erh i beg to differ.
Console region can be changed but it is a lot of effort to do.
As for game discs well that proberly wont happen anytime soon.

You really need a high level of skill in soldering and chip programming to achieve this tho (and the right kernel) good luck!

That's not really a guide, its just someone showing how he did it. There are guides tho if you look around, however it's not for the faint of heart. You need the infectus chip and programmer, and like you said you need the correct kernel 360, then you also need to be able to solder smd's like you said. Also, if you change the region, I don't think you can make it region free, I think you can only change it to one of the other regions so your ntsc games won't work anymore.
