Soooo my question is simple, what advantages does each one have over the other? I have zero technical skill to solder a chip, and twilight hack looks doable with the tutorials.

What functions does each offer, and which would you choose?

wiiclips are very hit and miss , they work for some but not for others, the functions are exactly the same , if you can get some body to solder the chip for you ? then this is your best option , if not ? then go with the clip.

Hmm, I don't think that's what Kyrue was asking didineedthis

The soft mod you are talking about with the Twilight Princess hack is to enable you to play homebrew software and also to install WAD's of Wiiware or VC games onto your system. You will not be able to play backup games on disc via this method and most likely never will be able to.

As for the hardware mod. This allows you to play disc backups and also through specially hacked discs, install homebrew. I installed my own without any soldering experience and I was crapping myself. Worked in the end but took me like 2 hours to do. I would NOT recommend it to a novice. If you're not interested in playing backups, rent Zelda, do the Twilight Princess hack, install the homebrew channel and then take the game back to the rental shop.
