Hey guys, thanks for the help everything is really appreciated.
My PSP Specs:
Model: Slim
Firmware: 3.8
Not Modded
Warranty Valid
This error has happened twice before, and twice I have sent it back to Sony for repairs, so maybe this time as the error is similar but not so serious, I can maybe seek help in this forum instead:)
I do not want to void my warranty in any way so I guess opening it up would be out of the question unless someone knows how to use the hair dryer trick which I would probably mess up on.
What has happened is that my home row (start, select, volume etc.) buttons are not working properly. Instead, some of them stopped working and some of them seem to have switched around:
e.g. Home button not working, when brightness/sound(mute) button pressed, they work accordingly i.e. brightness changes and sound mutes, however, the home menu unexpectedly springs up. But when the Home button is pressed, nothing happens.
I rarely use the home button however, and the reason for this question is because my volume buttons don't work either. I use them a lot and without them my PSP life is degraded and totally deprived of enjoyment, so I hope you can help a fellow suffering PSP owner (: !
Once again, thank you!
note: before the error took place, I had wiped the PSP with a damp cloth. I don't think this is the cause as with the two errors before it hadn't come in contact with any liquid/fluid. I have also tried hairdrying it (while being careful not to overheat it), airing it out (UMD/Battery Compartment Open) and placing it near a running de-humidifier in a de-humidified room (DONT ASK :P).
THANKS THANKS!
