4-steps to hassle free Xbox repairs

Someone has found an easy 4-step procedure to get your Xbox 360 repaired without having to speak to the "stupid" Xbox customer support people at the main number. <i>1. Call 1–800–4–MY–XBOX. 2. I won’t dwell on the details, which are boring. The long and the short of it is that Xbox customer support people are stupid at the main number, and useful at the escalated number. I have now discovered what I need to do in order to get future Xbox problems dealt with, and I thought this information would be useful to share with you.

How did I come upon this process? Well, I tried calling the main number first. I talked to a complete and utter moron, who told me to call back and tell the voice system my problem was with Xbox Live (despite that my problem is independent of whether I even have an internet connection). I immediately tried the elevated support number next, but you need an extension or reference number for an existing problem to get past the initial voice recording.

Yeah, this service centre makes you look like a real n00b which is plain retarded, I called them a month ago about this....lol

I had two 360s which needed repair, gave me really stupid questions and I told them I know the hardware and I know whats wrong!!

Also called them, the dude i did talk with did said that: it was NO way to move my gamertag from my old hard drive, too the new hard drive if I we`rent able to recover it trough xboxlive, which I wasent becouse I have the same e-mail adress as the other gamertag I have on the same box, and xbox live always recover the other one no matter how I do...How ever, I found then out by my self that a memory stick did the trick easly! He also said that it was no way to change my e-mail adress for my current tag, but there was :confused:....They must only recrute poor noobs out there to theyer service!!

All Ive ever heard was "why did you do that, I didnt ask you to do that yet, what do you mean youve already gone through that, how do you know how to do this when Im just reading it to you".....

I own both consoles...i actually prefer my PS3 more...but lets be honest here....the PS3 isn't exactly hassle free with all the buggy game is it now...that was proven to me by PES and now even worse with GTA...that's not to say i don't like the PS3, i love it.

But if you can't be honest to yourself then there is something wrong with you, maybe you should get out from under that rock.

I've used it twice and never had to speak to anybody, it works great.

Cuz they removed online repair requests, and direct you to call support. But its good though.

Got the shipping box next morning, send it in sameday, total 3 day business time to get a new one back. I love my location, I live 25km away from the Toronto processing center! :D I can also drive and submit my repair in 20 min. :D

360 has full DIVX/XVID, MSN messenger, XBOX LIVE marketplace, XNA game developers club, out of game voice/video chat, huge HD content, Movies, TV shows, MP3 playback during games, Windows Media Center accesibility, TV recording, internet media streaming and many other cool features.

divx / xvid alone takes the cake for me. I don't have a single expensive BlueRay disc. But I got LOTS of divx / xvid content. Its the #1 video format on the net. I can just plug in any of my external HDDs (USB) or stream from any PC in my network. I can also connect my iPod (playback/charge).

Plus for all the modders the dvd is flashable, and the system is already hacked. So you know what that means!

.Not sure if they are NTSC exclusive or not. Depends on the firmware you are using. Ive never done it myself, so I really don't know about PAL 360s. I think it turns ur PAL into a NTSC, not 100% on that though.

I can give you 4 simpler steps for UK owners... don’t know about the rest of the world:

1) Go to Xbox.com
2) Click Support
3) Click on your resisted console or add a new one
4) Request a repair

This works fine in the UK :)
