A 27 year old man has been arrested for stealing around 65 Wii games valued at £2,000 from supermarket Tesco in Bexgill. The man filled up a box with the 65 games worth just over £2,000 and left the store without paying for the games. Security staff then ran after him and he dropped the box and the games were recovered. The man made his getaway in a Vauxhall Vectra but was later arrested at his home. It is unclear why the supermarkets security guards didn't notice a man clearing out what must have been the whole Wii games display unit.
Hubbard, of Mountfield Road, Hampden Park, appeared before Hastings magistrates on Thursday and pleaded guilty to the theft which happened on January 26.
He also admitted a separate theft which took place on January 9 at the same store in which he stole up to 20 similar items worth more than £400.
Magistrates adjourned the case until May 6 so pre-sentence reports could be drawn up.
Hubbard must appear before Eastbourne magistrates on that date.
