Mario Kart blitzes UK newspapers

UK reader Paul Smith mailed us in his amazement at the amount of adverts regarding the Wii and Mario Kart in today’s edition of leading UK paper The Sun. This paper is well known for its fondness of the Wii, but on this special day it features six specific adverts for Mario Kart and the Wii (two of which are full pages) as well as one competition and a dedicated review of the game. As for the other consoles, the paper only contains just one advert for Mass Effect and the Xbox 360.

I was merely playing on the Gigantic "OUT NOW!" in the ad.

My question was in a surprised tone. I thought it released later in the month.

no, bad is game being bastards, its ok advertising it at £4.99 with any 2 trade ins.

we called into a dump store and grabbed a couple of pieces of crap wii games for £7.99 each and took them to game, then on to game, who basicly said fu*k off we can sell all we have at £39.99 so we'll only offer you £3 each for your trade in games, we mentioned their ad and trading standards and basicly they said by the time we called trading standards they would be sold out and the offer ended.

we paid full price, kept the reciept and advert, took the dump games back and got a refund, guess game will be getting a little call from ts on monday.
