Selected British Retailers slash PS3 price to £270

A UK reader has let us know that he has seen the PS3 advertised for as low as £269.99 in UK stores. Argos online currently has the PS3 40GB PS3 at a price of £269.99 while GAME is still at £299.99. However it is likely that such moves from UK retailers will result in a universal price decrease which is good news for the people of 'rip off Britain'.

wow, argos have a cheaper price than amazon, would never have thought i would see the day. Game are just dam rip off`s, they still charge £45 for gears of war, but my 360 was cheap from them so i forgive them

They'll have to work a little harder to catch up to the Wii/360 arcade.

i seriously doubt this will cause a "universal price drop" its only what...2 retailers over there doing this and that suddenly will make everyone drop the price? if anything this is probably because those retailers want to get rid of the 40 and make room for the new sku.

I Got one a week ago from Argos for that price with a £10 vocher, so i got RR7 for a tenner, hardly new news.
