Wacky Races coming to Wii & DS?

According to a listing on Gamefly, Eidos will be releasing a game called Wacky Races on 6/30/08. So its pretty safe to assume the game will be based on the Hanna-Barbera cartoon of the same name.

I probably will rent this only because I used to love watching this as a kid.

Why? Because it isn't real cars?

There is no reason yet to assume something is going to be horrible. I bet if you never knew who Mario was you would assume the same for Mario Kart? Where do you think the cool ideas of throwing stuff in the way of your competitors to get them to drive off course/crash, etc... came from?

No because it's Wacky Races. It'll sell all it's copies off the name alone, i doubt they'll bother wasting time/money to actually make it that good.

I loved Wacky Races but hopefully its not just a remake of the dreamcast game, that one was amusing if you were a fan but otherwise it was like a poor mans mario kart.

Come to think of it they should do more Hanna Barberra games, I would love to see Laugh Olympics, it would have to be better than Mario & Sonic. It would actually work well as a party game since they had hundreds of "events". Another that would work would be Super Globe-Trotters, that would be a hell of alot more fun than just another NBA game. :)

I remember watching this as a kid during my summers which I had absolutely nothing to do.

I completely agree. I liked when they made games like these back in the day, like when I used to play "Three Stooges" on the NES.

We need more games like this. I had enough of Mario running around in my Racing, Tennis, Golf, Baseball, Soccer, Basketball, Party Games, etc...
