I have some questions...
1. Where can I get the program to transform to .dpg file??? i did a google and DLed batchdpg the problem is that I got 3 files (batchdpg, ffdsshow something and avisynth) and NO guide :(
2. any guide on how to use the program I get??
3. When I transform does the format actually called dpg?? Bc I have a ImToo program, which is suppose to be the complete edition and even thus someone said it transform to ds file.. and can not find the dpg option. I tried mp3 and mpeg 4.. did not work..
personaly i use batch dpg for most dpg conversion as its easy to use and does a good job
super c will convert almost any format to any format (inc dpg) like videolan (a pc media player) it uses internal codecs so you can convert most files, its a bit slow but it will handle mkv files to dpg.
one warning the super c website is realy badly designed and you can go through pages to find the actual download link but it is free.
Thx for your reply on that thread (I decided to make my own bc it seems is going to be harder that what i thought)
so.. I tried batch but what I said above happened :(
I`m intersting in Super C bc of the mkv to dpg. But OMG.. that site is impossible.. I spend around 40 min and were no able to find the link to DL.. did a google search, found one direct link but it seems it was broken... :(
Thx for all advice..
BTW: thx Billy for your help on getting the card.. I end up going for a cyclods evo.. love it :D (would love it more if I could add to my music the anime videos :P )

aparently http://www.erightsoft.info/GetFile.php?SUPERsetup.exe might just work, if not http://www.erightsoft.com/S6Kg1.html then scroll down to ..
Download SUPER © setup file
Download SUPER © from official site 1
and click the link.
batchdpg
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fSFW4tkeAY <-- video guide
http://ls5.citizendeleted.com/?Documentation <-- full documentation and a faq page too
both programs will create a .dpg file, sadly imtoo (and its clones like xilsoft) cant do dpg as its a non standard format.
hope that helps

Dude... I LOVE you..
You helped me decide which card to get (end up with a perfect card for me) and helped me with the whole video/movie thing..
and it works perfectly.. I got Super C.. this thing transform anything into dpg... :D:D
Love you...
One last question if possible... I kind of understand how to make the GB/GBC rooms to work, but I can not find one single site with these emus and rooms for DS, just for PC.. I found one "test.nds: that seems to be a GB emu, but bc of lack of room (i`m looking for the castlevania and zelda ones) I can not give it a try... and about the GBC.. nothing. Any hint on that??
EDIT: 2 last question :P , is there any way of transforming JPEG and CDisplay RAR archive (type of format for manga) into anything to read/watch into the DS (e.g. possible into ebooks, or anything that work)
Again 1 zillion thxs.. :D

Lameboy is your best bet for GB/GBC emulation on the DS. The official homepage is down, but finding a mirror for the latest v0.9 release shouldn't be too hard.
Simply put Lameboy on your card along with the *.gb and *.gbc files. Launch Lameboy and browse to your files to play them. Controls are explained in the ReadMe.
In order to save your games in Lameboy, first save in-game like you would do if it was an actual GBC, then press the X button to send the updated save info to the *.sav file on your card. If you do not do this, your save will be lost. It isn't a savestate or anything; it merely confirms the save that's already present in the game.

ok well dan answered your gameboy issue as for roms i'm afraid that its a nono on here but i'm sure that google might help if you typed gameboy roms into it;)
by the way you do know that max has its own download section (click downloads from the main page) for homebrew/emulators etc.
now onto the comic book stuff, thats harder if its just jpegs and .cbr files(actualy just rar files open with winrar and extract the jpegs) the easiest way would be to simply use the picture viewer in moonshell (download the ds evo version from the tc website) however....
there is a program that is no longer supported but can be tracked down called cbds or comic book ds as with moonshell it uses a custom format but there is a conversion program either included or findable that converts to cbds format.
frankly its as easy to just use jpegs + moonshell.

oh.. God... sorry I assume that bc it was a place that aloud emu/homebrew It aloud rooms.. my bad and would never happen again...
Download section?? nice.. i`ll check that I did not know :p
About the comic book stuff like you said :p... wait.. I can see JPEGs files with moonshel?? Hmmmm... EDIT: ok so I got the image viewer from your DL section ( :D ) but how do I use this?? just make a folder on the cyclods evo card and put both .exe files there? a subfolder with the JPEG?? (the readme makes no sense) :o i`m such a noobie...
I found the cbds program, thus no the converting one (the conversion is from CDisplay to cbds, right??
Thx again... :D
gonna check that dowload section :D
NOTE: about the lameboy thing, the readme is in a format no read by my laptop (no the usual notebook file) so.. is this bc this "readme" is ment to be read on the DS?? (I use properties to ask the type of format and it says: FILE

eeek here i think we part on language.
i'm not sure i understood all of your post but i'll try
moonshell
you shouldnt need the image viewer as moonshell will play jpg files as it is (and txt files as well as dpg and mp3) no need extra software.
lameboy
copy the .nds to your mem card
make a directory called lameboy
copy gb/c roms into there
you might also try to google "romnation" ;)
cbds
the conversion program is called picto DS and converts to .cbds files
put the cbds.nds with your roms
create a sub directory called "cbds" and put your .cbds files in there (sub directories allowed to keep comics together)
i'm not familiar with cdisplay files so cant help as to that format
lameboy readme ......

ComicBookDS is made up of two parts. The first is the converter program, PicToDS. This can take folders of images or *.cbr or *.cbz files (or simple *.rar and *.zip files full of images) and convert them to *.cbds files. The second part is the viewer program for the DS itself, and this comes in *.nds format. Patch with DLDI if necessary, then copy it to your card along with the "cbds" folder it provides for you. This folder will contain your themes and your *.cbds files.
Moonshell is great for quick image viewing, but Comic Book DS's features can't be beat. Let me know if you need further help with this program.
Lameboy's README file probably just doesn't have a file extension. Click on it, hit F2 to rename it, and just add .txt to the end. Then double-click it. Either that or double-click it the way it is and tell Windows to open it with Notepad.

EDIT: you want to have fun reading with the silly thing ever..read below.. if not: IS WORKING!!! :D Thx!!
well...
the lameboy is working..
but the cbds *crying* I have try everything.. I found a clip on yourtube about a tutorial, but they did not explain the part of where to put the comicbookds.nds. You told me is in rooms.. where is that?
I have try to put it on games folder, moonshel folder... :(
:(
When I try to read the cbds file it says: .CBD ext no supported :(
any idea why is happening??
EDIT: dan (if I may call you like that) and billy This is how I have the files so far:
On the root of my card (cyclods evo) I have one folder named cbds, which contains the .cbds file (calymore manga), theme folder, ComicDS configuration setting (tool I assume)
the comicbookds.nds right now is nowhere bc I can not figure out where to put it (I assume is the part that is making this no to work) I have put this one root of teh card, on moonshell folder and on games folder (both folder in the root of the card)
:( what I am doing wrong?
EDIT: I just notice... dan that you said: "This can take folders of images or *.cbr or *.cbz files (or simple *.rar and *.zip files full of images) and convert them to *.cbds files." it does not transform jpg? I transform a complete folder with .JPEG/JPG files. Could it be that??
EDIT2: so. I convert a .cbr to .cbds Same error: ext no supported CBD (the weirdest thing is that it says CBD and no CBDS :(
EDIT3: (pls bare with me) I found this (http://forums.maxconsole.net/archive/index.php/t-68436.html) googling, which I learn I had to select/launch "ComicBookDS.nds" (I was opeing the CBDS file from the cbds folder :P ) But when I try to launch this application it says: file information: not support adapter? I have the application in the root of the card.
EDIT4: ok so I had the thing in my rooms (game folder) but as said above I was "opeing" the cbds file LOL... when I learn i had to open that .nds + you guys told me.. VOILA!!!! THX!

Glad you got CBDS working. I probably should have mentioned that I archived the homepage before it removed all CBDS content and have mirrors of all the files needed:
http://danthemanms2.googlepages.com/ComicBookDS_V3.0.zip
http://danthemanms2.googlepages.com/ComicBookDS_Only_V2.2.zip - for those who want the older version
http://danthemanms2.googlepages.com/PictoDS_win32_2.1.0.zip
http://danthemanms2.googlepages.com/ComicBookDS_Theme_Original_V1.0.zip
http://danthemanms2.googlepages.com/ComicBookDS_Theme_Previous_V1.0.zip
If you're not using v3.0, try it out. No major upgrades from 2.2, but it's nice to be up to date nonetheless. You can still use the old theme if you wish.
As for the images, I meant that the only way to convert straight *.jpg files was to select a folder full of them, which you found out. No clue why the *.cbr file isn't working, unless it's actually a .zip file. Try renaming it to *.cbz instead and trying again (CDisplay will still recognize it and open it on your computer as usual). Otherwise simply rename to *.zip or *.rar depending on what it actually is, use an archive program to extract the images themselves, and then convert to CBDS format with PicToDS.

I`m ok with the VC on wii so I do not feel I need a emu for SNES/NES. Thus if they keep delaying Castlevania 3 I may have to LOL..
I have not get the 3 in 1 yet, No need to atm (as you pry can tell i`m behind the Castlevania games.. and I own all the GBA so.. :P )
Thx for all your help.. and i would keep on the list the snes emus :)
EDIT: wow I missed your post before Dan.. Thx.. I have the v3.0 :)

ebook is simply .txt files and yes you access them through the media icon from the cyclo main menu since it uses moonshell to read them same as movies and music and pictures. they are hopeing to introduce an ingame text reader soon but at present have other priorities however with the realtime save you can always save, soft reset, read the file in moonshell, soft reset and reload your rts save to carry on so its not realy a big deal.

The homebrew billy is talking about is probably "TetAttDS" which is short for "Tetris Attack DS". Indeed, it's a great game, though if you're interested in it you should look into the commercial version of it called either Panel de Pon DS (Japanese) or Planet Puzzle League (European).
Other notable homebrew files: Whee! DS (3D racer), DSMaps (Google Maps), World of Sand, Word Wrap (text twist game), Lockjaw (Tetris), Warcraft Tower Defense (RTS), and DSOrganize (PDA + media playing + IRC + web browser + Internet radio stream + more).

Those 2 sound pretty nice...
I was able to find the DSOrganize in your download section, but no luck with DSMaps. Should I get it from this site? (http://dsmaps.wordpress.com/)
and I was going tru there and read a bit about the guide... what do they mean by this:
"DSmaps does not yet provide a capability to configure whatever Wi-Fi access point(s) you use, so you must do this outside of DSmaps using another Wi-Fi aware application. You can use either a homebrew or commercial app to do this - I used Mario Kart but I could just as easily have used DSOrganizer.."??
Thx....
EDIT: I read something about this program making the SD card corrupted :?
EDIT2: I got the DSOrginazer v2.2 Final from your DL section... I put the DSOrginazer folder on the root of the DS card and the NDS file on my application/roms folder. But when I start the program it has a lil cow dancing and it says: Please wait.. initializing FAT.. and just stay there... What am I missing?? Thx

are the subs hard coded or in a idx/sub / srt or ssa file?

If it's an MKV file, the subs are likely user-selectable and thus aren't actually part of the video file.
Try something like AllToAVI first, which will let you turn the MKV file into an AVI file with the subs hard-coded in. Then convert that to DPG. I haven't done this myself, so I don't know how feasible an option it is, but I have used AllToAVI many times in the past for other functions and recommend it.

when you get your mkv files do you get any files with the extension of .idx .sub .srt .ssa with them, if you do those are the subtitle files, if you only get the single file then the sus are "hardcoded" if your subs are hardcoded super c will do it but you'll need to change the crop / output image size settings so it doesnt chop them off.
if the subs files are seperate then you realy cant do it in one go and will need to fix hardcode the subs before you convert to dpg.
DanTheManMS
03-15-2008, 01:35 PM
billy, that's not entirely accurate. MKV files can contain the subtitles within the files without being hardcoded. If you load up certain MKV files in VLC for example, you can select whether or not to see the subtitles despite the fact that there's no external *.ssa file or anything like that.
If the subtitles are burned into the video, you can use SUPER. Otherwise you'll need to use AllToAVI first.

yeah, thats true, i always forget with these container files, tbh i've no idea if you could open the container and extract the subs (as you used to be able to do with the .ogm multi audio files.
